Sat my GCSE maths in '06. The maths in the non-calculator paper is arguably the most useful to me, even though the questions are a bit insane. It does build useful soft skills that are used, probably without realising and I think I'd do reasonably well today. You could sit me down with a calculator for the other exam and I would have to be digging deep into my memory and would not do well now.

How is 155/200 (just over three-quarters) an A*? Talk about grade inflation! Even an A being 120/200 (i.e. 60%), just over half scored is ridiculous.

Ah Lithuania, my home country (been living in the UK for the last 15 years though) - you guys fit in so well, simply indistinguishable from the locals! ;D Vilnius is good for a lil city break when it’s warm, good food, plenty of history - just avoid groups of males in tracksuits, but the same goes for the UK lol

Wow it’s weird remembering as this was the exact same paper I did back in 2015 and seeing certain questions awaken long lost memories in me brain. Got a B in it in the end but basically know none of it now haha at least I can workout my taxes so that’s useful as an adult I guess

I did my GCSEs last year (2022). What a pain it was to do 3 papers. I'm sure if I decided to redo those papers, I would completely fail. I only ended up with a B.

i feel old too, back when i did mine at that year as me and my parents moved to the uk, though when i started school i first started in year 10 when it came to the final exams when i was in year 11 i felt nervous my heart was pumping so much to the pressure of the 3 tests when it got to results day i passed with a b grade i did feel happy but i took so much of my time to revise as my parents were one of those strict ones who only wanted to try and push me to go to sixth form ( which happened ) thinking about it now makes me think of the pressure most of the exams gave me

On question 9 how the fuck did you know how many people were at the conference

You just had to find out when muliples of 40 and 15 overlap, so 40,80,120 and 15,30...120 which is how you get the amount of boxes, 3 box pencils and 8 box pens. Although technically there could be 240 people and you wouldnt know the difference based on the question.
