Camo is such a sweet dog, you could tell from the moment she rolled over when you first approached her. She likely hasn't been a stray for too long, her manners are too good. The way she sat down right away after following you and she wouldn't jump up on you, even when you wanted her to. She's been well trained. It's sad that someone would just dump a dog that is that well behaved and nice, but I'm glad she found you guys. She had a few apprehension, like getting in the truck and seemed overwhelmed when first meeting everyone, but I think she pretty quickly realized she was safe and just relaxed. I also loved seeing her and Mav playing on the bed, seemed they formed an almost instant friendship. So, yeah, Camo seems to be fitting in perfect and is an awesome new addition to the family. Well done saving her!!

From the way she behaved you can see that she has been loved by the previous owner . May be the owner passed away or moved and was unable to take her or became ill.? Whatever happened in between the period she separated from the previous home and then adopted by you may have been hard for her. Now she is happy thanks to your kindness.

She didn’t choose that sleeping spot at random. She probably smelled them from afar, & figured she’d be safer around humans. Poor girl was still so trusting, even though she was most likely dumped there by her previous owner.

A good balance of allowing the girls a little magic in Christmas while making sure they know the REAL reason for the season and the only one to be celebrated, our Lord and Savior Jesus. Man I feel like we're brothers from far away. Camo knows good men when he smells them . Believe he's cur .I have a female I got for Christmas Eve two years ago my boys gave me as a pup . She doesn't like coyotes either. Got 28 acre's an covered up with yotes. I'll pass up a deer to shoot a coyote anyway . God is good . God Bless u for taking her in we do the same thing . Thank you for saving Camo she is such a beauty. I saved my dog Max aka Felon boy from the side of a Interstate on Jan. 3 2017. He is the best Dog I have ever shared my life with he saved me from depression of the loss of my chihuahua of 18 years her name was Stinker. Max is a lab Pittbull mix according to D.N.A. test kit. Thanks to Stinker and Max for sharing their love and life with me. To me they are family. Rest in peace Stinker can't wait to walk and play with you in heaven.❤❤😂😂

U DIDN'T PICK HER SHE PICKED YOU ! Those are the best Dogs ! I raised German Shepherds and raised and sold puppies for many years. Every time I went to pick out a dog for a new member of my pack.... I went to the litter of pups and waited on the puppy to come to me and give me the clues he/she was picking me. That Dog came to you and picked you THE BEST DOGS OF ALL ! 😉👍🏼

The same exact thing happened to me while I was fishing! A pitbull puppy came up behind me from the woods and started playing tug on my fishing rod. It was during a thunderstorm, so I named him Zeus. He was truly a gift from God and my best friend now.

I had a miniature pincher show up in my yard a year and a half ago. I could hear coyotes carrying on outside, which isn’t unusual, and when I opened the front door the little dog ran inside the house! He had an injured eye and was underweight. I posted pictures, called the vet and sent him pictures as well as calling the shelter. No one ever called or showed up looking for the dog. My wife said we would never have an inside dog. A year and a half later and they are napping on the couch as a type this! Good job guys!

That girl has the great potential as a hunting dog, contrary to what many people think it's not the breed (genetics) that matter most for this kind of training, but the dog's individual personality. ANY dog can swim, retrieve, track or do whatever else you train it for, I've seen a German shepherd retrieving small game from land and water all day long without missing a beat, as well as a tiny mixed breed mutt tracking wild hogs better than most hounds... And you CAN train an adult dog to perform complex tasks, it may just take a bit longer (though not necessarily, sometimes it can be easier than working with a pup).

She plopped herself down at the base of those trees hoping the hoomans in the trees would help her. No other reason she would've stayed there so long. She sensed safety and she was right. I agree with other posters who are stunned that someone would dump any dog out in the woods never mind one with such a mannered temperament. I think the family are the lucky ones.
