Nice work dropping the volume of the intro music: that’s miles better. Happy Easter to you and your hard working team.

Hi baz, love the videos and the content and in no way is this hateful comment. As an ex BMW technician, I wouldn’t recommend doing this repair the way you have. You missed so many vital steps that are involved in doing this repair. I’m afraid that this will lead to premature failure of that steering rack.

What did he miss?
@ryanyoungs26223 ай бұрын
@@SteezyG Firstly the inner rack joints should be disconnected from the rack. Then the bushing has to be pre loaded at a specific torque. Then remove the cap then fit a special torque device is fitted in the rack where the bushing lives. You then put 25nm of torque on the rack and make sure the reading on the special torque device is within spec. Then fit the cap. Re-assemble the rack joints, the feel of the steering should feel the same as it did before the repair. Just no more knocking or slight play in the rack. Seen these been done without the proper repair and seen the motor fail within months due to excessive pressure

@@ryanyoungs2622 this looks like a pretty well defined workshop process. Shame to see something like this being done as we all know it'll come to bite them in the arse down the road.

@@SteezyG I don’t think baz has done anything wrong. He may not know that this process needs to be done and hopefully it doesn’t come back to bite him. He’s doing a fantastic job of bringing positivity and education to his platform. I’m just giving something back like he gives to us all 👌

@@ryanyoungs2622 I've stated on all of the videos I've ever done of these apart from this one, that there is a sequence of doing it by oem spec... But I must have done over 100 over the years and not had 1 come back... Thanks for the input buddy appreciate it... There is always going to be ways around doing it In the independent world..
