On Sion you're facing either botrk or sunderer essentially every game. When you're against a champ and entire comp that has 0 healing abilities but just for the DS alone the champ heals close to 6k before 40 minutes something's up lol. He talks about it often but was a DS Poppy game that comes to mind when he was showcasing it again.

@@AC-be5gu People are still complaining about Sunderer, when that item is nowhere near as powerful as it used to be. BotRK is not anti-Tank item (it literally gets fucked by armor stacking) - BotRK is HP stacking counter, so it only really counters Bruisers and Battle Mages (since both classes don't build that much rezistances). Now, let's not pretend that Sion is balanced himself. He builds full Tank, yet he does same damage as Bruiser that builds only damage items, not to mention that he's strong at side lanes and teamfights. And unless you play specific champions you WON'T kill that huge dumb zombie, even if you have ADC with Botrk, Kraken, LDR and Cut Down in team.

Just in case u didnt know, u actually can: u get 25 ME by leveling up on the pass, then u can get 125 ME with 2200 tokens from the pass (I mean any pass from what ik) and it makes 150 (even enough for the chroma). Now the thing is that there is a thing called Microsoft rewards, where u can get 575 rp each 5 weeks or so by login and doing a few things each day. What I did is make 3 accounts (1 in each browser) and, in that 1 month, u get a little bit more than enough to get the pass wich is no more than 1700rp, and u actually can get 1725. I hope its usefull.

i miss actives. these days u gotta time your engages, etc and hold out on poking well. like poking with diana's Q if u have Night Harvest means you waste the follow up damage, if you don't follow up with all in. same problem with keystones like first strike. you gotta hold your poke and chain it with burst damage if you want the keystone to be effective :(

The point you made about shen playing a more aggressive playstyle in the past really hit home, the success of a shen player who plays to the champ's strengths in lane, trades well, denies CS etc, and a shen player who afk's, doesn't farm, and plays like an ult bot are much closer together than pretty much ever before, I would really like riot to rework radiant, and change shen's power budget so his R has less power, then they could buff his damage up again, I think I would love that

At this point its viable to back for tiamat, shove waves, ult, back and go to lane and shove more waves until you have R up again. But Riot still thinks Toplane deserved the TP nerf when ignite has been meta for years and the lane has little to no impact

I agree, items are very strong. If i'm jungling with hecarim and i'm ahead, like i get a double off the lvl 3 gank bot lane or something along those lines, then i'll build into eclipse because the damage ramp is so insane and i can free kill bruisers who don't think they are able to die so easily. Then the game snowballs out of control, we take every objective and the enemy team can do nothing about it. If i'm not ahead i build into sunder and it keeps me in the game.

Yeah blade of the ruined king is a pretty overloaded op item but definitely necessary when there are champions like mundo, cho, sion that are already completely unkillable even with a bork.

It's almost like comps and picks don't matter anymore. Plenty of champs that due scaling hp damage (Vayne, Brand) or, inversely these scaling tank champs have dog early games that you can punish. Instead it won't matter just build the items

That's why it's turned into a system-level problem with the items. You need BotRK so OP to counter champions who can abuse OP tank item interactions with their kits. One of the cornerstones of League's balance used to be to allow champion imbalance to counter other champion imbalance. One champion would be pretty objectively overpowered, but they would be countered by other champions who were OP in a way that preyed on their weaknesses. Now, they seem to have pretty much stopped applying that principle to champions, where it works well, and instead apply it to item power, where it works in a way that starts to flatten other factors out of the game. I understand the logic. You want players to be able to make impactful in-game decisions, and item purchases are probably the most satisfying of those. But it's had some serious effects on the game and I don't think it's turned out well overall.

@@GlacialScion also it is just more the illusion of a decision, since most champions either have a strict buildpath till at least 2 items + boots, or they have a fixed flow chart to get an optimal build. there are very few champs left with actual degrees of freedom in their build.

the reason bork feels illegal is actually caused by items being broken. when we had tank meta, LDR was busted, now we had hearthsteel and like 10 more tank items introduced, and champs have more hp than ever, so current and max hp dmg are broken. items being more important than the champion has been the issue since like season 8, or even before that, because people stopped playing champs because they liked what the champ did, they started liking what items champ sinergizes with. all of that has lead to items deciding the meta, and not the strength of the champions themselves, and some champs that are really strong are actually forgotten because they dont work with items. i main anivia, and she does the exact same thing, with any item. you can build full ad on her, or the meta build, and her gameplay will look the same, there wont be timed attacks, changes in combo, its the exact same.

I think if you're not going to go Radiant Virtue but instead Heartsteel, then you should also go Tiamat and Demolish for splitpushing threat and focus on making teamfights a 4v5 with your ultimate. Though that does require way more coordinated teammates since Shen can't just force 1v1s like other splitpushers, rather he just threatens to take turrets if no one is there.

I feel the same way regarding items on Jhin. Galeforce is way too good, so much that I have been actively avoiding it every time because it just feels so cheap having such a strong press-to-win button. Disclaimer: I only play with friends so there's no real incentive to tryhard, we just play for fun. Thematically, he's also supposed to be a more 'methodical' ADC, not one that just dashes in for a cheap kill.

Very interesting what Petu says about items trumping champions and normal game skills. I felt something similar the past season or two, some items completely warp normal gameplay for a particular champion. That you have to play entirely different depending on who bought what. Your normal expectations that you learn over time is distorted. Like, Collector allows suddenly every champion to have executions? Duskblade allows for Invisibility? So then now a Master Yi is an untargetable, invisible, executing champion when before he was ONLY untargetable? Udyr with Demonic Embrace, now he's some kind of a....battle-mage that is highly difficult to kill OR escape as he burns you down. Radiant Virtue on Zac, he's enormous and also unkillable, and so is his team. I get Riot wants to make the game more exciting, for it to evolve with things players never got to see before. In a way, perhaps they think creating crazy items is an easy way to improve old champion gameplay - instead of going through the hassle to rework like 20 old ugly champions, give them new crazy items so they can feel a little bit more modern? Who knows what they're thinking. But damn it, I'm tired of BOTH new "200 years" champions and items being broken.
