Happens all the time, don’t beat yourself up. I wrecked my 2021 F-350 this March in the snow and did 20k worth of damage. Insurance fixed it and she is good to go. We all screw up, that’s why we have insurance brother. Love your videos.

That DEF is a Pain in the Ass! Had a guy years ago dump diesel in the gas tank or gas in to the diesel tank{Cant remember which}, Only 4 or 5 gallons from a can but we caught it before he started it. Guys had to pump it out and flush the tank. Been a rough couple of days for you!

Yo! My buddy actually has a diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee. We were on a road trip out in Kentucky, me being a mechanic myself, I was pretty pissed off when he dumped a whole can of DEF in his Fuel Tank😂 It’s a dumb thing to do but it happens more than you would think haha

Always enjoy watching your videos, sorry about the truck, that sucks. Does insurance cover the whole bill besides deductible? You would think they would make it a little more difficult to make that mistake? Can’t imagine how many people have made that mistake, should have to hit a switch to open the def tank or something just so it’s an extra step and you have to know which tank your filling. Hope they don’t take 6 months to fix it for you. Good Luck 👍

ford has this thing any fuel contaminant complete fuel system i’m a diesel mechanic had guys do this before you didn’t drive it down the road shut it off drain flush rplc all filters put new fuel and treatment in start it and drain system repeat 99.9% of the time should be fine

One employee one time some how puf diesel in the def in a brand new 550 not sure how they did it but they did. Another employee put def in the diesel on a close to brand new 550 luckily he realized he fucked up and never started the truck. That second one was a super easy fix drain the tank flush the system and back and going in two days. Sucks you didn’t catch it but it is what it is. You may get lucky and it may not be terrible I am sure the dealership will rape ya tho especially since insurance is involved now.

Yes, we all want to delete our diesels but at least in Pennsylvania if you tow over 16,400 pounds for work you have to have DOT numbers and if you get caught with that it’s not worth the delete that’s our issue at least in my area. If I used, it as my personal truck, I would delete it. No big deal.
