Trailmaker is roughly synonymous with pioneer or frontiersman and does get used as a vehicle name which explains some of the results

Breaking the sound barrier in trailmakers is actually really easy to do without using power cores. I have a plane that uses the hinge glitch that I've managed to get to 958 mph

Scrapman, i downloaded the first creation u spawn and i know why he jams the suspension, the jamming causes particles to generate then if u go fast it will leave a trail of dust.

The ground is not what bounces you in Scrap Mechanic, it's the engine. The engines are programmed with a random bouncy force

If you drive on the Scrap Mechanic roads (that you can add in the word editor to your world) there will be no bounce so that means that the bounce on grass was intended.

they probably changed the coefficient of restitution or something like that to make roads less bouncy

Search for "scrap mechanic" and "trailmakers" in main assembly, as creations can be way more detailed there!

The first one is probably just called the trailmaker because it’s supposed to be a sort of all terrain vehicle. I’m guessing both that person and the game named it after the term trailblazer which just means a pioneer or innovator.
