I have 5 brothers and one sister and everyone is so different and we grew up in the same house. I have 3 children and again they are all different growing up in the same house. For those not understanding the taxes issue: the service was presented as FREE initially. Then without knowledge it seems, Akil started doing them and then finished the service by charging for it. But not only that, he already took the money from the return. I don’t care if he got $1 million more. The agreement was the service would be free. And then it changed. The sister could really sue him for the service fee he took because the agreement was not between them

I don’t know a single tax preparer who provides that type of service for free! But also, why wouldn’t he be upfront about the costs? And why would the sister be so foolish to assume that he’d provide her with free labor? They both seem questionable.

Not judgmental, it’s disapproval. Her daughter wants to marry an older man that doesn’t have secure employment, and is disrespectful around her. She has every right to show her disapproval, especially since they’re asking her.

Akil tries to make light of his disrespectful antics and disposition because HE FEELS socially & intellectually challenged. He has poor social skills, feels inferior because of his speech impediment, height and appearance so he intentionally acts out to draw attention to himself like a proud peacock to overcompensate for his insecurities and indirectly insults to punish those who mirror back to him his inferiority complex. I really like his Aunt and his sister. I think his sister came off so hard because she didn’t like the way Alexis family was treating her brother and I get it. Akil seems like a decent guy who is a little rough around the edges but the fact that he apologized to her mom and is willing to do the work to make it works speaks volumes about his character. Alexis disposition towards Akil seems to shift when her family is around. Just my opinion, I do pray they are able to work everything out.

I would’ve gladly paid him but I think it was the fact that he didn’t tell her before he filed that he was getting her more and that if he filed he was charging a certain amount. It was a breakdown in communication that’s all.

Exactly that is the sisters fault because she didn’t tell her. She got an invoice. Not only that I’ve never been to a tax preparer who gave me the price upfront, because they have to see what the end will be. That’s why I do my own taxes, maybe she should learn so she won’t be crying about someone getting her more money and wanting to be paid for their work.
