President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to adopt mechanized farming to address hunger and food insecurity.
President Tinubu made this call to action during his presidential address to mark the country's 64th Independence Day celebration.
This comes at a time when Nigeria was listed as one of the global "hunger hotspots" by the World Food Programme in 2023, due to rising insecurity in agricultural regions and increasing costs of essential farming inputs.
Mr Tinubu also acknowledged the high cost of living, particularly food costs, as a major concern for Nigerians.
