If you support those types of things, you have to be crystal clear what you mean by them. Reparations, for instance, would be paid by tax-payers, some of whose ancestors weren't even here during that time. We're so mixed and global, we'd see white people in line for reparations because they have black ancestors. DEI initiatives, for example, force folks who are not minorities to expand their radius of job searching and can lead to families moving away from one another. These initiatives also harm other marginalized people, like Asians, from gaining placement in universities.

First, I promise you DEI initiatives is not that radical and wouldn't be hard to get through Congress. Second, There are two types of Reparations, generational base reparations and income base reparations, Marianne supports the ladder, as it would be easier to just support the communities, not individuals, that were impacted by systematic racism, which will help all lower-income families and people, regardless of their color. That wouldn't be difficult under a Democratic Majority.

I think you're overestimating the number of people who support them. It's largely only progressives and they are a minority of the Democratic party. That's great she backs the income-based reparations, but that still ignores the fact that voting Americans would not be willing to pay for such a frivolous issue. We have ways to positively impact lower-income families without A) using race-agitated policies and B) negatively impact lower-income families who are not part of this fabricated formula. She'd be way better off gunning for the VP spot, as Biden will easily put her in her place with the majority of Americans. At least he's capable of pulling in some Republicans. Williamson's populist policies are her flaws and would drive moderates away.

I love her. She's everything a nice system claims to want to be and our system is horrendous. Karl is a bit cynical and it shows but voters may not be so interested in his system, anymore, either. We are tired of being led around like horses at a Derby and she treats everyone with respect. Further, I see nothing wrong with this nation putting a priority on our selves.
