Capcom is trying to take advantage of the "double dipper" market out there. These staggered physical and digital releases are absolutely done on purpose. Sucks for us, but it actually maximizes sales for them.

I don't mind, as long as they give us an actual cart. This has been a quality port and even if I double dip; it's cheaper than me buying just one arcade 1 up machine. The Switch version is a hybrid device and is easy to hook up to any set up (monitors, AR glasses, ect). So far the only censorship has to do with the punisher showing real life images of arrests or people on the streets.

@TwistedGamingTV It's no coincidence that this and the next collection was first announced during Nintendo Directs. The Switch is slowly becoming the ideal fighting game device that you can bring to EVO with a joystick; just like that Switch reveal trailer was trying to sell it as; when they showed a team of players at a tournament playing Splatoon 2. Lol. I remember thinking "Splatoon? It would be worth it if this device got some old school and new school fighters" Now in 2024 -2025; it looks like it possible.

It’s true that they’re expecting people to double dip. I’m going to be double dipping myself and get a physical copy to keep after I’ve already bought the digital. I grew up a fan of the series and a fighting game player myself though. I understand that if we want a new marvel vs capcom in general it’s going to depend on the sales of this game. The more money this makes, the more Capcom will be incentivized to make another MVC. Especially since all the licensing for the characters is waaay less of a hassle now then what it was before.

The mathematical differences alone going from 480i to 4k would be immense alone. There’s no way you could purchase an upgrade like that for that many games for basically 7 dollars per game, let alone with online play.

Usually I would wait for physical , but I find fighting games best to play at launch after a few months everyone will be so good that jumping into a fighting game late means you have to take a ton of beatings . Shame the physical ain’t coming out until November , I just bought this one digital but I will say the online for me has been very mixed I’ve had a lot of really laggy matches , I hope they fix the online soon

I have had my Switch preorder for $39.99 in since June. I don't mind the twin towers censorship. What I care about is how the game plays and with rollback net code it has to be superior than let's say an arcade1up. Also, Michael B started a rumor that The Punisher is not online coop so I was going to cancel my preorder but after a bit of looking into it he had selected the wrong lobby mode (Casual instead of Custom match lobby). The Punisher is indeed online coop with spectate; which is why I'm getting the game. All together it's like $7 a game so the price is not bad. US is getting physical copies only EU is getting digital and that's rumored we don't know for sure.

Bro .2 hours ago i watched an asmongold vid about dragon quest and censorship. Back in the days, they butcher most international game because karen wanted to have a say on everything her kid play. Now they want to change the character characteristics. Body type 1 and 2 but only body type 2 is cover up. Says all. To answer. Frankly i m less hype for the game . Which is good. I kinda almost hype buy on announcement. Rn i only have a switch to play. Pc dead since a while. Tried repair. Despaired and but on the side. Got long sick leave since a while. Wanted the steamdeck but i doesn t sell where i am. That itself is a whole diff bag of crap. So switch. No way they d get raunchy one day. Still plenty to go by. Legend of link. Core keeper. Mario&luigi. Gundam breaker 4. As content wise. I can just wait the price drop. Seems like what a lot of people are doing it now as go-to. But the war against physical looks attrition
