I Shiny Hunted Giratina for 200 Hours

When I was little, I shiny hunted giratina in Pokémon Diamond. I still have the lad, his name is Azazel and he’s currently chilling on my scarlet save file. I remember doing the shiny hunt quite vividly, but I have got no idea how a 6-7 year old child with severe ADHD had enough patience to hunt giratina of all mons in an old Gen game with no charm and worse odds.

200+ hours worth of resetting for one shiny is genuinely insane. That's an entire Terraria run where you take a LOT of time doing some decorating after actually completing the run. At the same time, I commend the patience and the perseverance that this requires. Where I would've given up after maybe 200 resets, you went all the way, and I respect tf out of that. Congrats!

Giratina is my favorite legendary too. I've been trying to dynamax adventure for it's shiny myself, and I'm hoping to catch it in a moon ball. So I understand the struggle (even though your hunt is way harder) and I'm super happy you finally got yours! Wish me luck too haha

For shiny Giratina i like, hunt him, after a while i got bored i do other stuff in pokemon, i come back to him hunting him, i do a break of like 6 months, i go back hunting him and i eventually get it on a net ball after weeks of resets

I have still been hunting giratina for over 4 years now technically on Ultra Sun, I used to hunt regularly for months back in 2019 and stopped for awhile, came back doing regularly when crown tundra released for swsh, then I stopped again. I haven't really bought the dlc on scvi due to how kinda medicore the first part of the dlc was and that I don't have much yet to buy the dlc, now I can technically buy the dlc, and so far, I'm pretty sure I can complete the dex and the part 1 of the dlc before part 2 comes out, That and, because of the legends actually coming back in ID, I thought of starting the first part of the dlc before buying it with a shiny giratina that I've been hunting in US so I can transfer it with the shiny registeel I have in US too lmao. I don't know how long I'm in the resets since it has been over 2 years since I touched my 3DS, hopefully I can get my shiny boy soon, especially since I just started today again lmao edit: Technically I could just do dynamax adventures, but I really still don't like the ai of the npc's, so I might as well just soft reset easily infront of the Gira in US. PLus I'm already this deep in the resets, might as well continue lmao edit2: eyy, I actually got him, now he's in Violet

a great shiny to start is a dunsparce in area zero you can just walk up to them and non shiny ones will despawn you need a sandwich with normal type encounter power sparkling power is also great (especially if you don't have the shiny charm) cuz it gives you more shinys but you need herba mystica for sparkling power which means you need to do a lot of raids (5 star is the best from what I've found) your welcome for the tip!!!

I know I'm late but congrats! I got very lucky and decided to do the gen 6 national dex before the 3ds servers shutdown. Since I had to have multiple copies I got the normal Giratina in another copy and traded it to get my shiny charm so I could hunt for it in Omega Ruby and I managed to get him in 173 soft resets! He's now in my Violet and I adore him.

I'm on over 50k for a sentret in Soulsilver, and i have not enountered a single shiny since i started the hunt, that includes a full playthrough of Sapphire, half of diamond, and 2 days of soft resetting in Platinum for a shiny Chimchar. I just wanna see a single shiny man, what's with my luck. I missed 3 tackles in a row while fighting a Shinx on my way to Oreburgh, that's a 2³ / 1/8000 chance. Feels like my games are against me at this point.
