Is there really such a thing as 'outgrowing'? I'd say what happened was that Annie experienced more personality-shaping events that made her really have to question and figure out who she was, whereas Troy didn't get much real action that wasn't just goofy side-adventures from Abed. Another theory I have is that Troy actually did mature a lot, but mostly off-screen. Like for instance in the episode where he duels the guy from the AC repair school: Instead of joining in on the whimsical nature of the repair school (with the duels to the death and the 'truest repairman') he orders them to behave like a normal school and send the dude to prison. That seemed really strange to me considering that Troy is easily the biggest goofball of the group, so my best explanation was that he actually was maturing the whole time, he just didn't have any episodes about it, unlike the rest of the group.

I mean, I always liked Jeff and Annie but this was my favorite pearing. It would have also been interesting seeing them as a couple insted of Troy and Britta and seeing Jeffs reaction. Cose their relationship (Jeff and Annies) was a big part of season 2, wasnt so much in season 3 giving Annie a reason to try with Troy in season 4 and explaining Jeffs again bigger interest in Annie in season 5 (like we saw he has with women who are unavailable).

My first time watching this show I did wish Annie and Troy got together, at least one kiss within the first season. As I read in the comment section I do agree that it was nice to see Annie grow out of that high school crush! Plus I love the friendship she had with Troy and Abed. The three of them together were such a delight! They could have had sweet moments in season one then gotten over each other on good terms then after their friendship could have still developed stayed the same as it was in the series. Although either way the show is perfect and it has a special place in my heart!! I do see Britta comments and ahh first time watching it yeah I didn't see why they put them together and I still don't but hey at least troy got action LMAOOOOOOOO
