I’m not a professional hairstylist, but I’ve been cutting hair for almost 40years now. Sometimes, someone that looks good on a specific hairstyle doesn’t mean it will always look good for everyone. It has a lot to do with the shape of a person’s face to match with a nice hairstyle. My suggestion is, try growing your hair a little bit longer, then get it cut again. This time, don’t show the barber any photos, just ask him to cut it any style that would suit the shape of your face. 😉😉😉

The haircut he wants is called a two-block hairstyle, which is basically a disconnected bowlcut. It's a pretty versatile haircut that looks good for lots of different (Asian) face shapes. You're right, he just needs to grow out the crown a bit more, so he has more to work with. Also, most of those Korean actors/models/idols with the two block haircut have a downperm to keep the sides of their from sticking out like a porcupine. Otherwise, you will just have to keep shaving the sides every few weeks to keep the haircut tidy

Yeah, I usually just give general directions on how short I want the hair etc. I leave the styling up to the barber. They usually do a pretty good job of choosing what suits my face shape best.

neighborhood barbershop cost around 70-90 pesos. the price is understandable since it's a tourist spot (there's an extra addtl fee). the hair looks good on you, no kidding.

Well as like others commented a typical small Kuya’s barber shop around the corner will most likely do a poor job in copying those haircuts. Next time try those who are specialising Korean hairstyles for example “Morido Art” in Manila, if I am not mistaken. But anyway you look totoy in that barber’s cut 😊

That's the reality about our barbershop bro, some barbers doesn't have the skills and knowledge about hair and how to cut and style them. They just randomly started doing haircut for the money and only a few invested on their skills to cut hair. I remember there was a local here who can cut woman and every haircut you show to him, but sadly the owner of the barbershop fired him because he does take every customers compare to the owner who just cut hair randomly to earn money. I suggest you go to salon where there are gay which most of the time very knowledgeable about Korean haircuts, I mostly have a gay local stylist and lots of my friends go to him now. We just show what in the picture, and expectation and a better reality as a result. So becareful on local barbers.
