Grandfather played professional dombra, grandmother was a teacher and sings. His parents are Kanat Aitbayev and Svetlana Aitbayeva. Sveta studied classical singing, but is not an opera singer. Both have long been known and loved by the people of Kazakhstan, are Honored Music Artists of Kazakhstan. I love Dimash and his music and have been a Dear for several years now but, to be fair, I feel like this version of SOS isn't the best one to get a new listener onboard. While Dimash has continued to evolve as a singer and do nothing but become better and better (which often seems impossible and yet he does it!), this particular version of SOS is a little overproduced. This version has WAY too much reverb and delay on his voice. Also, Dimash plays around a lot with the melody in a way that is nice for us longtime listeners as it introduces some freshness to a song that we've listened to over and over and over (and probably freshens it up for him as well) but, for a new listener, I feel like the song and the magic of Dimash's voice gets lost in all the vocal FX and melodic noodling. I can see how a new listener wouldn't understand how great the voice under all those production layers really is. If this was the first performance I'd ever seen from Dimash, I'm not sure I would've really gotten it right away either. Tbh, if I was going to introduce someone new to Dimash (which I've done many, many, MANY times), I'd go with one of the OG versions of "SOS," either from "Singer" (my favorite because it's just pure magic) or Slavic Bazaar. And, honestly, these days, I might have started her off with "Stranger" instead. No hate here, btw! I'm not one of those Dears who gets all weirdly overprotective of Dimash like an emotionally overwrought teen girl with an idol crush. I'm just seeing all the comments from Dears who are upset that Thalyta "didn't get it" and am pointing out that it may not be her so much as this particular version of the song. Whoever is telling Dimash that he needs all those vocal FX (or isn't telling him that the magic of his voice is getting lost in the mix) isn't doing him any favors. Why anyone would hide that voice under all that production is beyond me. It's like trying to decorate a diamond by painting fake gold leaf on top of it...

How do you know that wasn't her sincere reaction? This is why dimash has the most toxic fanbase and made alot of reaction channels stop reacting to him. When the "dears" feel like reactors aren't sucking his dick enough they get all defensive and start attacking because they don't get the reaction they want.
