Enjoyed that. Keith is one of those guys that you can just tell he KNOWS what he is talking about and doesn't have to constantly say "in my 90 years of running a coin shop" to give himself street cred. Big thumbs up. Oh, and some really nice silver.

4:15 You hit the grading nail on the head; some individuals forget that grading is merely a formulaic opinion on specific coin aspects. Yes grading is a useful point of reference, but ultimately people are buying the coin itself, not buying a piece of paper wrapped in a plastic slab with a “70” stamped on it. I completely ignore the grade if a coin is slabbed, and won’t pay extra for a graded one. I buy the coin for the coin, immediately take a Dremel to the slab, and free the coin for a more accessible storage solution.

This show is actually very nice and informative. I like the idea of bringing on numismatic touch into it. Numismatic is an interesting investment compared to simple stacking. Nice job 👍🏻

Luv the video, SS! Thanks to Mr. Crew for being available for this too. I really liked the convo between the both of you on this subject. The Draped Bust dollar was stellar, as well as the bulls-eyed toned Morgan (artificial????Are you kidding me?). In the past, I've tended to buy the older coins with great detail, but have environ. damage to them because they still hold pretty decent value! I liked the Coronet! The "milk" spotted round/square brought up a conversation I had with a coin dealer back in Oct. where I had a '84-CC Morgan I was trying to sell that was graded at an MS64 and he wouldn't buy the coin because it had tone marks from staples on the reverse. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the coin except that. I understood his thinking on it too. Aesthetics with coins are a major pull for buyers and collectors. Even if a coin/round has a high grade, little defects can definitely affect buyer interest. I ended up keeping the coin because I wasn't going to sell it for a pig in a poke! Thanks for the vid! Cheers!

I was thinking maybe the Morgan's are the same because a troy ounce of silver is about the same size as an ounce of copper. I'd have to test that theory. Hands down your dad's beautiful toner if I had to pick one. It might not be the most expensive, but it is certainly a beauty!

Enjoyed the show with Keith. My favorite was the toned Morgan. I just love the toning on that one. Seeker are you considering sending it to PCGS? That one is a special coin to you but I get the feeling that it would get a higher grade, but that you have a special bond and unique memories connected to it with your dad. Just my thinking. Those are nice coins. Finally, seeing that milk spot probably makes ya want to holler.

I thought I was a coin collector for years, but financial circumstances largely prevented me from actually collecting. But a few years ago, I learned about stacking and realized that I have always been an opportunistic stacker at heart. As a paperboy, I was always checking my change for silver in order to grow my stack.

I’ll tell you one thing if a coin gets slapped with the MS 70 and then down the line it starts milking or toning I believe that it shouldn’t affect the value once a coin is slapped that’s it. That’s what it gets that grade.

Milk spotting on the square coin would be a detraction but milk spotting on a coin like a maple does not bother me at all because coins like that are not some collectible thing. Milk spotting is just further proof that it is silver.

I don't buy any of that stuff for my stack or collection. But to flip for a good profit I would definitely consider purchasing. I'm one of those "silver is silver" people. Maybe I would be interested in pre-1800 coins. But definitely not anything with Spiderman or Coca-Cola, just not my thing. Once in a while I'll see something from MK BARZ like the 4 reales Spanish replicas that look cool, or Egyptian mythology pieces. I find those way more interesting than the Marvel stuff.
