Of all ex-mafia guys, Mazza is the one I enjoy listening to because he comes across as truthful, and he's not out there trying to justify his past sins. He's like, "Here it is; here's what I did; and that's how it was." Just a straightforward guy.

Today was the first day watching this channel. I am super impressed with the way he handled and questioned the former mobster even though he wasn't allowed to by an order from a judge. I'd say this interrogation check all of the boxes, allowing the people to talk, and talk, and more talk.

@@farzana6676 like the way Matt Cox was and still is, IMHO, one of the best podcast in a long time anywhere.... Cox was basically using the equipment and channel owned by koncrete to tell his story. This one, Mazza, telling his story...they REALLY need to put effort towards understanding the art of the interview. Mazza said towards the end, "I really wish you'd have read the book BEFORE I got here." I couldn't believe that he didn't read the guests book about HIS LIFE before having him on the podcast to talk to koncrete's subs about HIS FUCKING LIFE! lol.

@@farzana6676 They do for sure, although Sammy has way too much revisionist sprinklings throughout them- imo. Mazza just tells his story, nothing extra. Sammy’s stories, many of which are well known, tend to end up with him as the only rational voice in the room, or the most honorable. And for me, it’s off putting and just not as believable. Though I’ll say, I still like to listen to Sammy sometimes, it’s always nice to have a contemporary player that was involved and can speak directly to the events that took place, rather than an indirect witness that may or may not know wtf they’re talking about.

I can say without bias that this was one of the best larry mazza interviews that I have watched or read, and I've probably seen every one that he's ever done, SO PLEASE DO A PART 2, or more content with him through out the future, we need to cherish hearing guys like this talk about anything because most of em are in bad health, prison or dead, so the ones that have turned their lives around and can still express themselves masterfully need to be celebrated in a big way!!! This goes for all of our elders, too much of our local, regional, family, personal and general history is taken to the grave now a days and the people writing the history books are only telling you what they want you to know or what will invoke you to feel a certain way about whatever group or country or industry.

It sounds like some of these guys were just psychopathic killers. However I smiled when Larry said he now lives in Cocoa Beach, Fl. I live in Brevard County (born and raised). Cocoa Beach used to be a really happening place when I was young. There were good bars - one called "Brassy's" on A1A. I remember seeing the very first shuttle launch in 1981 and all of the apollo launches too. Surfed at Patrick Air Force Base. Welcome to Cocoa Beach Larry!! That was really good. I usually am not a big fan of mob guy interviews, because sometimes they go in a little too hard on the tough guy angle, but this dude was different. It was great. Interesting and captivating the whole way through.

What's crazy about a life of crime. Is that by the time you're on the news watching what they're accusing you of, just like the audience you're wondering how you got here too. What I mean is nobody starts out their life of crime just straight killing people. It's a slow progression

These guys weren't the true evil in NYC back then. There were teenaged punks who did horrible stuff for sport or just because they were messed up, and were a much bigger threat to most of New York than these guys ever were. At least mafia behavior had a purpose. Half of what they did is legal now anyway.

Extremely well done interview. Great job young man and one more thing, Mazza could have been an extremely accomplished man if not in Cosa Nostra. Just my opinion. Allot of these mob guys could have been great business men if they would have taken a left instead of a right at the fork in the road. I like most of the ones I’ve seen.

Big respect and thank you both for this fascinating chat, the Mob Life and hearing genuine made guys speak about what they experienced and became part of (whether its true stories being told or not, always fascinating either way) always a topic of interest for myself, I nerd out on certain topics and this is one of those certain topics I enjoy, lol. Best wishes to you Larry, appreciate the effort and time it takes to come and speak about the former life like this on these podcasts.

My late mother dated Anthony Mirra and my Dad did business with the DeMeos, and most of the stories I've seen where I knew the people involved or the events are I'd say about 95 percent true, and when something's changed that's usually just a detail due to something needing to still be kept secret. Almost all of these ex-life videos are substantially accurate and do provide a feel of what NYC was like in the 1980s. These guys weren't even top 100 evil compared to some of the street gangs, thugs, crazies like Son of Sam, etc. The mob was strictly business compared to most danger; at least you knew the rules and what you were dealing with, plus they were very handy at providing services not easily available to the mainstream (but which are now often legal).
