Great choice. And not one part of me misses the manual tbh. The S-Tronic facelift feels more like a supercar then the manual did imo

Hi Ben, I bought the exact same car as yours except its a 2014. Everyone was telling me to get the manual. Im so glad i got the F/L STronic, it gives the supercar experience every time i drive and in the black with black wheels snd red calipers it causes a commotion everywhere I go. It looks like a 100k car and cost less than half that! I adore it and its going nowhere

Completely agree with you! The S-Tronic definitely makes the R8 feel more ‘supercar’. I’ve not mapped this one. I also may have forgotten to tell my insurance that my orange one was mapped 👀

really surprised you went for the auto after having the gated manual, I tried it with a dct m3 and an s tronic r8 and just found it so boring to drive in comparison. The fact most supercars have an automatic gearbox is one of the huge plus points of a manual r8 to me.

Ok…I’m now upto speed 😊…S’Tronic …mmmm very interesting…had thought about an update from my V8 manual to V10 s’tronic….that’s on hold for the moment though as I’ve just put a 981 Spyder in the garage…..give us a shout if you fancy doing some sort of comparison video in the Spring / Summer 👍🏾

How would you compare the gear change speed compared to the DCT on your 35is?

@@be1441 I thought it would be, I've not had a chance to test drive one yet. I actually own your exact 35is currently (very neglated by the previous owner however I've nured it back to health) and was looking at a s-tronic R8 or Jag F-type s for my next car. I also had a 2.0 Z4 e85 as well. We have the same taste of cars and car progression haha

I own a V10 plus with S Tronic, believe me there's more than enough power for the road, sometimes just too much for narrow B roads.

@@robertoquerini8220 I’ve got a S4 and it’s 350bhp and I think that’s quick enough, so I can only imagine 600 ponies is like 😂 maybe one day 😏
