$20k for all that is a good deal for you. You most likely got the better outcome in that transaction. As a fellow reseller, I wouldn't feel comfortable buying all that randomness for 32 cents on the dollar. But in all fairness , I don't have a good enough idea what was all included in this since it was 1000s of items. Although it does appear the ASP for all that was fairly low ($11.88), so it makes me believe it wasn't the best inventory in general. Eitherway, if the buyer was happy, more power to him. I wish you good luck in the more reduced and focused business model. As always I appreciate the videos!

He got the good end of that. 1/3. Is not really a good deal on the buyers side. Probably lots of slow selling items and lower end. Or else let’s be real he wouldn’t be selling it.
@MrJohnSmalleyАй бұрын
@dogbonetc7623 Yeah, I agree. Even though the buyer was able to completely transfer over the listings so he wouldn't have to relist it all, it's still a hard pass for me. Actually, due to it being a random assortment of a wide variety of stuff, I actually wouldn't buy this stuff at all. My business isn't set up to take in that type of inventory in that manner. Not to mention just the overall low value of it all and the mass quantity of items that would need to be sold just to recoup my initial investment cost. Firstly, you have to hope the listings and pricing were done in a quality manner for it to have a decent shot of selling. Secondly, the buyer just inherited another sellers inventory system of date based storage. So, most likely, the new seller has a completely different method of inventorying their items, so this will be a pain to deal with every time they sell unless they go through all 5000 items and update the custom sku. Lastly, the biggest potienal problem the new owners may deal with is that this inventory has a high likelihood of having defects or flaws that will affect his account metrics. And thats because they are just transfering over the listing "as is," and I am assuming there is no quality control taking place to make sure they are not putting "problem items" in their business. How do we know all the items are accounted for? How do we know the Nerd Nation crew had good systems and processes in place? And even if they had good business practices, how do we know if they are up to our own business standards and match the level of service we are trying to provide to our customers. This just looks from all angles, an incredibly high risk that this buyer just acquired, and even if it works out for him, there is a high likelihood that this was not the best use of $20k for his business anyway.

@@dogbonetc7623 Agreed If it sells for less than $10 + Ship its probably worth less than 0 actually because of the low hourly and sell-thru, any minimum wage jobs pays more. This guy who bought was definitely a viewer and a new seller. I made those mistakes, I bought slow cheap stuff for $1, hopefully i'm wrong and its at least not slow sell-thru.
