This is my theory of the whole genshin game Mihoyo had a game before called Honkai Impact where if the region's technology is advanced, it would trigger Honkai, and that would wipe out the entire human civilization. I tried playing Honkai Impact and seemingly, both of the games/worlds have the same rules. So in my theory, 3000 yrs ago or longer, Teyvat has almost been destroyed by Honkai, so some people sacrificed themselves (read venti's poem (P. S - I had time bruh)) After that, human civilization regressed substantially. Bcuz of this, the highers feared the development of human civilization, so they made this sky island system(Celestia as you could see in the sky sometimes). This system was to let 7 gods/archons manage over each region in Teyvat, so Honkai wouldn't be triggered again. The 7 gods could be heard from the Teyvat storyline trailer. Freedom, Contracts, Eternal, Wisdom, Justice, war, and love. Venti(Barbatos) and Zhongli(Rex Lapis) were already shown, if you played the game. The God that showed up on the beginning(the one who separates you and Aether/Lumine) (BTW, aether Canon Mc) probably is the one that manages the sky island and other gods' work. And as many call it, it's most likely Paimon who is the unknown God. There are Barbatos, Morax, and Paimon up to now, so how could she be just an emergency food? Then 500 years ago, a new country appeared which is Khaenri'ah (Again, watch the trailer). Many remains of this country appear on the map(like the unnamed island where you have to kaeya Jesus or glide). This country was near to a Honkai so by the rules, the Gods have to destroy it. And so the Archon war begins. What can be confirmed is that all 7 gods should've participated and had an impact on several gods(Description on other PV. Most ppl haven't seen Barbatos for a thousand of years, but only 1 person has not seen him for 500 years, assuming someone has seen Venti 500 years ago tho. When the War broke out) And Khaenri'ah was destroyed by the gods, and their people were cursed who became hilichurls, abyss mages, etc. Some descendants were left uncursed like Kaeya and Dainsleif. (So kaeya and amber will be buffed later on, cuz Amber had a huge potential in the comics. Yes, expect a new not-D-tier Amber.) These descendants exist for revenge and vengeance. The idea of the Khaenri'ah people can be heard again from the trailer. "in the perpetual meantime of a sheltered eternity, most are content to live, and not to dream bla bla bla." This means even if some of them are monsters, they still challenged the sky island with human identities. So this makes sense why the sibling traveler (AETHER CANON MC!) wants to help the abyss (if you don't believe me, watch the other trailer where Lumine was being carried by the Ruin guard) Back to the 7 archons, several gods reflected on the correctness of the sky island. Among them, the Cryo Archon, who is the Tsaritsa from Snezhnaya, had the biggest action. Because she is the Goddess(Just assume the archon is a woman) of Love, and alot of people lost their loved ones on the archon war, she established the Fatui, whom she distributed her powers to. She abandoned being a God and challenged the Sky island. In comparison, Barbatos, Zhongli, and the God of wisdom showed resistance to the rules of Celestia as well. Is freedom at the mercy of the sky island still freedom? Can a forced contract be really a contract? Since the development of civilization is a folly of self destruction, then what is wisdom? So then, Venti allowed his people to live in freedom. Zhongli ended all contracts in Liyue, and the God of wisdom ignored the cultural development in Semeru. As nature goes on, some comply and some resist. The God of eternal and the God of justice still follow the rules of Celestia. As for the God of War, she doesn't see fit on any so she shares her power with the traveler(Yes, expect a Pyro power, but sadly, this is the 2nd to the last region) In the trailer, if you heard the last lign of the narrator, "show me that you are worthier than I to save her" This 'her' refers to the unknown god and not Lumine. Maybe she was forced to it as well? Dunno. Also I got a feeling Dainsleif is the narrator and is somehow related to unknown God. If the unknown God isnt the top tier boss, then go expect another world. Honestly, I think there is another world than Teyvat(Bye storage). The traveler twins were traveling worlds after all. Therefore, I believe mihoyo will device a new game continuing the story of the expedition of the twins, other than Teyvat.

Also, another theory about that- or maybe it's been confirmed idk; but Durin, the dragon who reigned over the mountain, fought both Venti and Dvalin. He then was defeated by the both of them, but poisoned Dvalin, causing him to become corrupted, and that is where the traveler comes in and saves him from the poison. And we know that, (spoiler) the twin is working with the abyss and we saw them controlling Dvalin. Perhaps this relates with these ruin guards scattered about, and new ones we haven't seen before. Also, it is mentioned that a lost city is buried inside and around the mountain. Evidence to this is the ruins, and some of the names given on the map.

Ok, I have some theories: Remember the trailer in which Lumine had some flashbacks of a landscape being destroyed by black cubes (like the power of the god who fought Aether and Lumine at the beginning of the story)? What if the country being destroyed at the beginning is the "nation" that the fallen Ruin Guards are referring to, while the "skyborne power" is referred to that god (or also Celestia?). Another theory is that they are referring to Khaenri'ah. If you read the description of some ascension materials, you can read that after the fall of Khaenri'ah, powerful monsters appeared all over Teyvat (like Durin)... But this is just a theory, a game theory...

Actually, I think you might’ve looked too deep. If you’ve opened the “hidden” chamber with the fresco’s, you’ll know that the mountain only became covered in ice after the pillar on the top of the mountain fell from the sky. So the skyborne power is probably Celestia, since the shapes on the pillar look a lot like those you see when starting the game (the pillars and bridges slightly above the clouds) and well, where else can something of that size fall from? As for the nation, lore suggests that a different kind of people lived on the mountain, you could call it another nation. These mountain people had their own mechanisms and their names greatly differ from those found in Liyue or Mondstadt. Unfortunately, no matter how much they offered in the temple on the mountain (now the domain) or how long the princess of this folk waited for her lover, an outlander to return and come to save her people from the snow, nothing worked, and soon the entire nation was wiped out by the cold. So they failed. Though other than that, this sentence is quite the mystery to me. They had to take Celesta’s power? For what? Is that why they were punished? But oh well, that’s just my view on it, I guess. Edit (contains spoilers): I may actually be wrong about the whole ordeal. I guess I wasn’t taking into consideration that these are ruin guards, also know as “field tillers”. Meaning that, they’re from Khaenri’ah. Say, the “we” means people from Khaenri’ah, the skyborne power are the visions/elements/archons, and nation would be Teyvat? Either way, their failure would be the fall of Khaenri’ah. Though I guess looking at it this way would be disappointing since we already know this.

I know I'm a bit late, but considering how far buried they are considering how normal world ruin guards are mostly above ground, even the ones on sand, I'd have to say that this happened very very long ago. I'm sure the fatui weren't as advanced back then, as they literally started making copies of sigils of permission recently. Going back to the beginning of the game, which provided backstory, as well as the ads for the game, teyvat historia's analysis, and the cutscene that spoke of a dark queen, I would say that this message was left by Lumine. In one ad, we saw her riding on the hand of a ruin guard, implying that she's the dark/abyss order queen in the aforementioned cutscene which I don't know where to find it was so long ago lol. Some other things have implied it too, but it took so much brain power to figure out and piece together that I only remember the end result. Also based on the ad and teyvat historia's analysis, we can conclude that there was a bit of a time gap between lumine's and aether's arrival. Teyvat was undoubtedly undergoing a war when they first arrived, but when aether woke up it was peaceful. In the ads, lumine can be seen experiencing destruction and chaos (don't quite remember which one). The siblings are also implied to have powers from their own world, and in the initial cutscene, they were flying alongside the sustainer of heavenly principles in celestia (no they were not gliding because you can't evade in midair because gravity). i think the message explains why dragonspine is in snow that can't melt, forever. Remember that giant pilliar in skyfrost nail? This pilliar is the reason for all of this. I read a lot of things about dragonspine myself and from theories, and i have to tell my theory aswell. So, i think that dragonspine was once a beautiful and warm place. Full of greenery, flowers, trees.... and people. There was a big civilization there. They had a king and a castle. the remain from the castle and neighbouring strutures can be seen in-game in the form of ruins. They even had Ruin guards to protect them. Everything was awesome, the sun was shining bright, the skies were blue, full of beautiful clouds... but then one day, out of nowhere, the disaster happened. The pilliar came from the skies in full speed and crashed like a bomb in the mountain summit. Half of the nation died because of the impact it had, and the other half... well, after the impact ,snow begun falling. Everyday, nonstop. Temperatures were below zero, freezing cold. grass started mutating so it cannot die out in the subzero temperatures. The remains of the structures that had been destroyed because of that pilliar were full of snow. People who were further from the impact of the pilliar or survived it somehow lost all hope for the return of the warm days, the blue skies and the happy people. In the boxes you collect in game can be seen the progress of the impact. The princess for example, waited for the traveler who she loved... she hoped they would save her and the entire mountain.. but with time her hope faded, as well as her will to live. The three of them ( the scribe, the princess and the nun? [ i forgot the last one]) slowly died because of supply shortage. They couldn't find a way out, neither a way to survive in these temperatures with limited supplies. Everyone together with them died out. Everything became quiet and the beautiful mountain became known as dragonspine, aswell as its civillization... people in Teyvat still do research on them.Meanwhile the caves became so cold that the pilliars force and power had its way down there, creating spikes and shards of unbrakable and unmeltable ice. But because of the fight that venti and dvalin had with durin, his life force and vitality from his dead body soaked up the whole mountain, creating powerful and uknown fiery force that can melt even the most unmeltable and unbreakable ice. And thats how dragonspine vecame dragonspine. As for wy the pilliar fell there, why exactly there and who made it fall off from celestia, i dont know. My expectation are that the gods wanted the nation to die due to how advanced it was, remember the honkai - genshin lore? yeah, i personally think that way. But im not really sure. This whole dragonspine area truly is amazing and add up a lot of lore in the game.

People call ruin guard as ruin guard because most of them can be seen near a ruin (probably to use them as guards by the people of the "ruins") or to be more clear, unknown structure or a thing of the past. As for ruin hunters, they are not hunters who hunts ruins, they are probably a golem used by the people of the "ruin" to "hunt" for things. I'm very intrigued about the people who made and used them.

I always thought of it as a message from the original civilization of dragonspine. The last chamber unlocked after all the runes are activated, the one right deep in the middle of the mountain close to the statue of the seven, had some very interesting murals. They stated that Dragonspine was once an extention of Celestia, they descended and raised what would probably be the same culture that created stormterror's lair, which once was old mondstadt's capital. Then after they moved and the evil king was defeated by barbatos, dragonspine was forgotten and finally perished by a calamity. So they wrote their final message to Celestia. "For the nation we can't forgo this skyborne power, but we failed." The calamity that gave the final blow to an already decaying culture, would be the fatui harbingers as this video states and all the plot would be connected.

but in rpg, knowing how to deal with numbers gives great advantages. Stats ratio, in other rpg, is a staple. In Genshin, knowing how to balance phys. and elemental dmg for maximum dps is a must, esp. for characters like Diluc, Chongyun, Keqing, etc.

6:20 No, that message may probably refer to the Nation in Kaen'riah, they had an 8th Archon and they are believed to have had access to a different element from all other 7, that may be the Starborne power the Ruin Guards refer to, even though they had access to that power they still lost to Celestia and the Nation got destroyed. Some people do theorize that it's the very same power the traveler twins used. There another problem with this theory. The Fatui also make use of Ruin guards themselves, S nice Dottore, their scientist managed to replicate the technology. It makes little sense for Ruin guards to be representing our defeat in a different timeline, when they'd be under enemy employ instead. Anyway, here's another possibility, what if Kaen'riah was not the first one to get ahold of that power. What if we had a nation located in Mondstadt that is older than the country controlled by the Tyrant Decarabian? There are ruins in that mountain that suggest the existence of a totally different culture, no one in Mondstadt seem to know about anything related to those ruins, no one at all, and not a single one of the books show that Venti/Barbatos knew anything about the mountain either. If anything, by the time Dvalin and Barbatos fought and defeated Durin the books have us believe that nothing resided in this mountains, yet ancient scriptures tell us the story of a running princess, a man working to get some kind of medicine be for his daughter a scribe and a painting. I don't think this is related to any other regional lore we currently have in the game. It may even be something that is older than freaking Morax the oldest god around. If so then we may also have a clue on the Unknown goddess here. Why? Because she also seems to use this Skyborne power that keeps showing up in random characters like, Dansleif, Traveler, Paimon and the Unknown Goddess, all 4 of them have a symbol related to stars in their clothing or even body (Dansleif has the primogems star-like pattern in his Iris)

Nation = Sal Vindagnyr, an ancient civilization on Dragonspine before it was sheered cold. Skyborne power = a pillar that dropped from Celestia that cause Fog and Blizzard on Dragonspine that destroyed Sal Vindagnyr (that Nation) gradually. we can see "that pillar" on peak mountain in Dragonspine. my conclusion, Celestia already demolished two civilizations : Khaenri'ah and Sal Vindagnyr. It seems Sal Vindagnyr had made 'forbidden' ties with Khaenri'ah, some people said : they worshipped tree something that its roots connect to Khaenri'ah or something..

Well, similar to Khaenri'ah, the Dragonspine civilisation (Sal Vindagnyr) was destroyed by Celestia, similar to Khaenri'ah. It has no correlation to Snezhnaya whatsoever since Ruin Guards malfunctioning and the ancient civilisation existed and destroyed long before Snezhnaya. Skyfrost Nail is the object sent down by Celestia to destroy the ley lines of Dragonspine and turning the climate agonizingly cold, effectively destroying Sal Vindagnyr. The event of forming the Fatui and destruction of Khaenri'ah are quite recent, especially when compared with the destruction of Sal Vindagnyr. The Fatui do not control/own Ruin Guards. In 1.4, we know that Ruin Guards originated from Khaenri'ah. The Ruin Guards were sent here, Dragonspine changed to cold weather, they malfunctioned and Ruin Graders took their place. That's why these specific Ruin Guards are deep in the ground compared to the ones in the Entombed City - Ancient Palace, because they are ancient.

My own theory is that this message doesn't refer to the theory of us losing to Tsaritsa or whatever, but its confirming the Honkai and Genshin impact relation theory. Those who've read the honkai manga know that once there was a ship sent out to space to look for a better world to inhabit when their own was suffering. The ship was called 'The Ark' (not 100% sure about this name) and once it set out, it never returned and no message or communication was established. Now, in some language (I don't remember which) "Teyvat" translates to 'Ark' which gives a strong theory that the ark that departed from the honkai world discovered and inhabited Teyvat or Genshin impact's world. There's a very detailed article on this somewhere online I'm just writing down what I know from there, for more you can read it. Now, what does this message say about this theory? The message is "For the nation we cannot forgo this skyborne power, but we failed" and as the video says, nation = Teyvat and skyborne = across the space. The ark that travelled across the space and came to establish teyvat. This message could possibly be confirming the Honkai-Genshin theory, instead of shedding light on what may or may not happen in the future. I'm not much of a theorist so of course I may have messed up some facts but this is what I think.
