MEET Amber Gordon, the luxury personal shopper who sources designer items for high net-worth clients around the world. Amber, 30, of London has sold millions of pounds worth of goods since founding her company - Tailored Styling - six years ago and is on track to sell £4 million worth this year alone. After starting out selling items online, her client base grew and she has been able to source goods from a £87,000 handbag to a £250,000 watch for clients including public figures and footballers. Amber is now able to afford items from the luxury brands she was fascinated by as a teenager and travels to amazing destinations for both work and leisure. Amber told Truly: “To me, money is essentially freedom. You can make your own choices, you don’t have to ask permission to do things, you don’t have to limit yourself. I can just decide something and I’m going to do it.” Today, Amber is on a tight deadline to fulfil a client’s request for a watch... Will she succeed?

I have seen luxury youtubers talk quite a few times about luxury shopping being much less easy as one imagines it to be. Be it very much a first world problem, I totally agree, it takes them a lot of time, multiple visits to the store and contact with sales assistants to be able to buy a product they desire ( and still they also pay a hefty price for it ). In that light I understand why some people hire someone else to buy luxury products and resell them instead of buying them themselves. I've even heard of it myself, not for Chanel and other major luxury brands but brands like Philip Plein or Moncler. However I do not believe Amber is in this business, as it requires discretion and this video totally goes against that.

Another reason to hire a middle man to buy luxury goods is the way people are expected to behave and are treated in luxury stores. For people who aren't born in wealth that environment can be scary and unwelcoming. Still they want the things they can financially easily afford. Nobody is hurt by someone else making money this way.

I think she buys them with her own money and sell it to her clients in higher prices. You be surprised how hard to find some of these designer items since they only make a few per piece. So let's say a rich guy saw an LV jacket he likes but can't find this since it's an item from a past collection. He hires this woman to hunt this item down.
