Bro I can't thank you enough for this video. Very Helpful!

I live here too and completely agree with all the advice. I would also advise, when touring the apartment, to turn on the hot water to check the plumbing, knock on the walls to hear how hollow it is (or not) as this lets you know how much noise you'll get, and to check in cabinets (for evidence of pests).

Great vid. Just moved to Jersey City. The prices are jacked here too but the commute to Manhattan isn’t as bad as you would expect. Got 2b 2b laundry, dishwasher and natural light. My roommate and I pay 2k each. I definitely recommend roommates since it allows more flexibility in your search. But nothing beats your own space. Love your office space and walking pad.

Do note though not every listing on street easy will advertise as rent stabilized but you might find out when you apply. Sometimes they don't post it if they want to find higher qualified tenants. That is what happened to me. But I do recommend always search under your max budget. 100% avoid 1st or basements though you are lucky you never had an issue. In Manhattan my mom is on the 2nd floor and in the winter occasionally will have a mouse to catch (old building) and when I lived near Columbia in Manhattan I was on the 4th but had a roach issue that was awful (old building).

Really good advice. Thanks!

Thank you Dev..and ppl be weary of Landlords who also are brokers... its sinful. If there's a laundry in the building it also increases your rent.. try housing apts as well where in most cases utilities are included

That treadmill is really cool, how’s it been functioning and has the desk-type feature work well? Meaning do you find it doable to get work done on the laptop all while working a regular remote-schedule?

2000 for a studio is steep😰 come to queens. im paying 1950 for a 3 bedroom

Where in queens you got that nice deal?
@Emmy247404 ай бұрын
Well it’s 3 rooms but I turned one of the rooms into a living room. And my mom use to live here but she passed away. So I continue to live here cause it’s hard to really find anything else that’s worth it. And it’s Bellerose in queens . But it all depends whether you want to live close to the city or whether you don’t care about that. If you don’t care and you have a car this is perfect place to be
@JoyfulOne4684 ай бұрын
@Emmy24740 ah ok Bellerose you'll find cheaper apts but still that's a great deal. It's far from usual prices.

That’s actually a good deal for a 3 bedroom.

You could have a house in the south. Shit I live in a luxury apartment right now with all the amenities and more for $800 less than that. But live it how you get it I guess. Can’t hate!
@kimanikamuyu344 ай бұрын
The south isn’t NYC though. People are in NYC because of the job opportunities and all the city offers. Certain careers in particular you have greater opportunities for in NYC. Also the experience of living in a city like NYC is what you’re paying for. You really can’t compare what you get there for your money versus anywhere else. The lifestyle is completely different. It also has to do with demand and supply. Space is limited, and finding something is much harder than most other places because of this reason. So it’s very easy for pricing to be much higher than what seems reasonable for this reason as well.
