one tip for moving out in the uk just pay a cleaner to come round and tidy the house for a couple hours will cost you around 40 quid max sometimes less. Inform the landlord you are hiring a cleaner before moving out and boom avoid that extortionate 'cleaning fee'

Interesting video, I’m a Brit who lives outside of London and has been all over the US. Interesting to hear a few comments about things such as safety, as London is the knife crime capital of Europe and currently has an issue with phone robberies in central London, London is the knife crime and drug crime capital of Europe. Also in the UK we pay 8% of our salary towards healthcare, it’s free at the point of use, the NHS wait list is now something like 8,000,000+ people long and it is famous for its poor service and long wait times. I’ve recently had to use my company’s private medical insurance to get seen to and then get the correct treatment, both of which was impossible via the NHS. Also worth calling out fiscal drag, our income tax personal allowance has been frozen for years and is still frozen until 27/28, meaning every month we get poorer and poorer in the UK and have been doing for years. Oh and the price of petrol is more than double the US costs so if you ever want to drive it’s not cheap. Also London people are famous in the UK for being rude compared to northern people. Also homelessness is very real across London and the UK.

9:19 I guess this isn't a London thing or even a UK thing but property as I'm sure you know here has become a business without the obligation to see it as a moral obligation to see owning to rent as a social responsibility. It's understandable if there's heavy damage but as you said people have left properties virtually as they got it and it's like the landlord is so greedy they were always looking for an excuse to keep some or all of the tenants deposit. The sad thing is that deposit would be going towards the tenants' next rental, whereas as minor wear and tear should be absorbed by the landlord.

I would say rent in London is slightly higher. I live in a 1 bed in zone 3 and I pay $2.7K. Zone 1 should start as from $3.3k for a 1 bed that is decent.

Hmmm I feel like they took the mick with your deposit in the places you moved. Because legally you don't have to pay for "normal wear and tear" issues in the UK so normal scuffs on the wall as a result of you living there day to day should not be on you to pay. All that said, I like these kinds of videos and it was interesting to learn that taxes are lower in New York. I'm an ex londoner living in a town in the south and I love how much cheaper the rent is

My question, what is your educational background and didn't you have to have a work Visa to live and work in London? It must be nice to be able to jump up and move from a city to an entirely different country. I am a retired educated black man originally from New York City (Manhattan) living in Washington, D.C. I came to D.C. in 1973 to attend Howard University. After graduating, I made Washington, D.C. my home for the last 50 years. I wouldn't have the courage to pick up and move to another city or even travel outside the United States due to the way things are going here and around the world. I feel deep in my spirit, something bad is going to happen before 2024 ends that will affect us all globally. 🙏🙏🙏 As a black Catholic, I always dreamt of visiting the Vatican in Italy, London, Madrid, and Paris. I doubt that will happen in my lifetime before God calls me on to glory. It's great seeing young black successful black men like yourself. All the best to you.
