the angel path doesn't just give you "support" stuff. It straight up gives you the best offensive spells in the game - in bolt of justice , and storm of justice. They have no upper scale limit (they scale as long as your caster level increases) , do more damage the stronger your opponent is (does more dmg to demons. Does even more damage to demon lords) , can't miss or be resisted , automaticallly debuffs the enemy , and has a chance to leave the enemy prone. Storm of justice does the same thing , but in an aoe. And you get bolt of justice as soon as you reach mythic level 3 , if you're a merged angel. Angel is THE ultimate power fantasy in this game. On top of that , you have by far the best story , and one of the most satisfying endgame encounter (since you can chose to permanently merc one of the main antagonists of the game , by straight up invading their domain , and then purging it with fire). They also have a spell named "Wrath of the righteous". Nuff said.

I'm be honest I never uses spells because I miss read the stat for paladins and ruined my stat for spellcasting.
@mihai0000004 ай бұрын
@@noobatgames3321 you're not necesarily going to cast a lot with paladins anyway , and it can't merge spellbooks either , since you require a full divine caster to do that (cleric/oracle/druid/shaman/etc) , but the pally can have some decent utility spells. That being said , the main reason u want more cha for a pally is not even for the spells a lot of time , but for the smite ability , which scales with cha. The more charisma u have , the bigger the attack and deflection bonuses of your character , and the same holds true for mark of justice. So a high cha paladin that just marked an targed with mark of justice will allow their allies to absolutly demolish a single target. It's probably one of the single strongest buffs your allies could have against an evil character. If you add guarded hearth from the community domain , on a cleric.....there is your boss killer combo.

@@noobatgames3321 The Angel is by far the most powerful for full divine spellcasters (cleric, oracle, shaman, druid) because these classes can merge their spellbooks. Oracle as a spontanous caster that can get an animal companion and useful melee abilites is the most powerful IMO, but the others are pretty close. Paladins only have a spell list up to level 4 and can't merge their spellbooks, which makes them significantly less powerful than full caster classes. The "support" aspect of the path means it has the most powerful buffs as well, but it is simply the most powerful path overall not just the most powerful buffer.

I remember when I first picked up PF: Kingmaker, I had to put it down. It was buggy, and honestly on top of being buggy it was one of the most frustrating experiences I had ever had. But then I saw that they had updated the game, you could now seamlessly swap between turn based and RtWP modes. The game had received tons of updated content and as many bugs as possible could be patched. It was then that I fell in love with that game, and in love with learning that system. Then by the time I got into Wrath of the Righteous, it actually pulled me in. Golarion is now my favorite fantasy universe, and Owlcat is one of my favorite developers. Their games aren't perfect, but they are earnest and I appreciate that a lot. That energy being brought into the project made me such a massive fan of the Pathfinder IP.

What's your legacy? Is death the end? And most of all, there's Wenduag! Oh my god Wenduag. Most of the companion stories are cool, but hers especially, and even moreso if you successfully pursue a romance with her. On top of that, her voice acting is so good. Yeah, there's not a lot, but what's there is enough to sell her character, and honestly I could just listen to that voice talk about anything.

@GodzillasaurusJr2 ай бұрын
@@MFobes I had a real wall of text going, but lost it when I tabbed out, so in short: edit: OK, so not so short - apologies! Controls: Formations and being able to drag select whoever you want quickly and easily is a huge QoL improvement of the the chain system in BG3. Game system: 3.5/Pathfinder has an enormous potential and variety for builds and optimization. Playing in tabletop with people with varying degrees of knowledge, I find that a bad thing, and distracting from the most fun parts of the game, but in a CRPG I absolutely adore it. Story: Both games have BS moments, but almost the entire Chapter 3 of BG3 is pretty boring. Fighting the camera, pathing etc. among the tall buildings in Baldur's Gate makes it even worse. Some don't like Alushinyrra in WotR for similar reasons (I do like it), but even so, that part of the game is quickly over. Puzzles: In WotR some are fun and others are way too much (thank you online spoilers!). In BG3 I struggle to even remember a puzzle. Not a huge point to either game's favour. Heroes: In WotR, all the characters are cool and/or funny (except Lann), including the Lich exclusives. In BG3 a maximum of 5 characters are even likable, and two of them arrive late. The romances in WotR if you care about that stuff, is mostly good, with various possible outcomes. I can't really speak to the quality of romances in BG3 because I've only done one (because as mentioned I don't even like most of the characters). Music: Good in both games, but the WotR I often find myself humming and listening to outside the game. Very rarely do I do that with BG3 music.

This is probably going to be buried, but A fellow first run trickster! I loved dualwielding bastard swords for insane criticals and sneak attack damage, even if I could hardly ever find the things. That said, as someone who plays it on tabletop, there are a few problems. One being that it's really frustrating when the game consistently throws creatures that are equal to or more powerful than what the pen and paper tabletop rules would consider demigods, that is, creatures with 25 to 30 Hit dice. For example, a random demon slave trader that you can meet has more than 40, and he easily surpasses Cthulhu himself lol. Now, mythic powers are made more powerful (and cooler) than the tabletop, but this doesn't offset the lack of balance in the encounters. To explain, even in the beginning, without mythic powers, a single dretch demon is supposed to be a standard challenge for a second level party, and the stats and abilities it has in the videogame back this up, but you're facing them in droves, with stronger backup before you get to level 3. And that sets the expectation and feeling throughout the game. This has the effect that you're forced to do what would normally be considered exploiting the game enough to be thrown out of a group, just to have your character in Wrath Of The Righteous get through a single day. Which, given how frequently you'll need to rest is... Off putting, especially in enemy headquarters like the Grey Garrison or Ivory Labyrinth. This is to say nothing of the DC 30 and 40 skill checks and saving throws that you'll be making or dying from in the middle of the game.

Coming to this game after DOS2 and BG3 felt like a hard slap in the cheek. I beat BG3 and DOS2 in tactician without any serious issue. This game absolutely humbled me, I can't count how many times I have to reload for good RNG or change my approach to certain fights. I'm over here fighting normal enemies with 40 AC while in BG3 I think 25-30 AC is the most I've seen on an enemy and those are mostly bosses. I also have to deal with permanent debuffs (negative level and disease being the most annoying), enemies that has access to annoying gas bombs like stinking cloud or cloudkill, and the brutal dungeon crawling like in the drezen siege. I had to beat stauton and his entourage with 4 PARTY MEMBERS because the other 2 died on the way to him because of the absurd amount of tough enemies in every corner. Couldn't rest either because of the corruption so I barely have spells to use. Didn't have res scrolls either because they were quite expensive at that point. It's still a great experience nonetheless, just the thrill of beating tough fights and getting good loot kept me going.

I haven't played WotR just yet but clocked in about 30-40 hours on Pathfinder kingmaker. I've also played a bit of Baldurs gate 3. Tell me your thoughts on whether you prefer WotR or BG3? Give me pros and cons for each without spoiling. Thanks!
@TiggleMeTimbers4 ай бұрын
@Ontos99 Hmm I really do love both, but I think Baldur's Gate wins for me between the two. The production quality alone sells it for me. The voice acting, the characters, the builds! It's not quite as deep as Wrath, but it still has a lot going for it in terms of character customization. I recommend both, but Baldur's Gate 3 first!

@@TiggleMeTimbers and once you've played bg3 twice , once as good and another as evil , you're pretty much done with it. It has no replay value , and looks more like a pretty wedding cake. It's spectacular , but it's something that in the end , you will just eat a single slice.

crusade combat problem is that it's really 100% about hero mages and archer units protected by tank units. just let the hero mage blast everything apart. By the time you get twincast even the end level fights are a joke. Lvl12 army w/firestorm and twincast is a round 1 or 2 fight even against a difficult fight(red enemy army). there is zero reason to have non caster generals. there is no reason to experiment w/soldiers. bow/arrow backlines tankie frontlines combat over. Only issue I have w/the game is there are a ton of hidden mechanics that are hard to find in the game, and not easily found online. There are also a lot of feats that have those hidden mechanics hidden behind feats you really shouldn't want to have but have to take to open the ones you do want. In a game where there is already a "heavy feat tax" that's a bit ciminal. Last minor issue is that some weapons have an over abundance of named/special weapons, long swords ex, and they are found in just about every act. Others on the other hand have nothing you would want to use until the last act or 2, and by then you've locked yourself into a weapon type via weapon focus already. Could have split up some of those named weapons to give people a reason to use other types of weapons throughout the game. Yes you can respec your toon, but why in a rpg would you want to completely reshape your toon from what it's been? All that said, i've never been disappointed I picked the game up for 20.00 US last year, it's my new favorite game, and while I'm hardly a min maxer playing on unfair, I do enjoy playing and trying different races/classes/mythics. Probably done 10 play throughs already and it's rarely been the same game, outside of the campaign stuff.

I hate the combat. Buffing yourself prior to combat in order to win is not my style i hate it. Baldurs gate is how i like it. The story in pathfinder i like better though.

I absolutely love this game, and after almost 400 hours put into it i can say that it is always satisfying to be more and more powerful with each Mythic Level. Not to mention the Mythic paths OST, mate, those songs are absolutely beautiful. Currently i'm on my way to become a Swarm, i'm really excited to see how it's going to be.

Azata (the one with the dragon) is more healing/support and helping the party. Angel is more about offense But yesss, Pathfinder is such a great game. Best CRPG out there imo. I wish Owlcat updated to add the multiplayer functionality from the game they made afterwards (Star Trader)
@andersonrosa66454 ай бұрын
Azata's superpowers can easily turn you into a killing machine though. And there's a certain item in the midnight isles DLC that goes extremely well with a certain azata spell
@Zorothegallade-rpgАй бұрын
Angel is all about the healing/blasting dychotomy. You can use its skills to either heal massive amounts of health and make your party immune to most things, or to heap hundreds of irresistible holy damage upon foes.
@minhducnguyen927614 күн бұрын
@@andersonrosa6645 Azata is definitely more versatile on the account that you'll always find at least one of the superpowers to work with your build. And they are not really complex because they are just passive skills that directly buff your abilities/attack.

I too have recently became absorbed by this game. Anybody that liked BG3 but just found it too easy should give this a try. It is awesome. You will not steam roll this like you will bg3 honor mode lol

@mihai0000004 ай бұрын
i mean....both systems (warhammer and pathfinder 1e) are not exactly made for people with no tabletop experience in mind if we're being honest. Pathfinder in particular was dnd 3e , with even more layers of complexity added into the mix.
@theherooflfr98694 ай бұрын
@@mihai000000 perfectly put, good sir. But i would love a “mainstream character as default” for beginners. Dont get me wrong you can easily google a simple “hit the guy in the face” build but it should be in the game. Many friends of mine gave up.( they were introduced to dnd via Baldurs Gate 3) mainstream brings money and gives you more views entirely.
@mihai0000004 ай бұрын
@@theherooflfr9869 actually , i feel like people have a very wrong ideea about what is the easiest character to build for a newbie , in pathfinder. A fighter is hilariously enough.....not newbie friendly. They get a lot of feats , and to build a fighter corectly , you kinda need to understand what feat is good , what requirements you have for each feat , and how they interact with each other. You can easily make a crappy fighter if you have no clue about what you're doing. In wotr in particular, i believe that its easier to build a viable caster , then it is to build a martial. Id suggest any newbie to play an oracle/angel or sorcerer/lich as their class and mythic combo , because even if you take crap feats on them , the sheer power of the merged spellbook will carry you anyway.

@TiggleMeTimbers4 ай бұрын
@Gamerznation704 No, it's probably not you. It does feel pretty insurmountable in the beginning. Once your characters start coming together it gets a bit easier
@Zorothegallade-rpgАй бұрын
The beginning of the game really starves you for equipment. Especially as one of the most powerful weapons in the game is hidden behind a puzzle in the very first dungeon (and another really good one is hidden in a sidequest soon after) so if you miss those you'll be at a disadvantage. I would advise to take note of enemy resistances and immunities. Demons are immune to electricity and resistant to other elements, swarms can only be damaged by explosions or crowd-hitting magic spells, and ghosts, wraiths and other incorporeal enemies need to be hit with magical weapons, positive energy or spells, and only take full damage from Force spells (like magic missile) and Ghost touch attacks. Easier difficulties turn those immunities to resistances, so try those if you're stuck. Also use the auto-level up for the companions if you're not absolutely sure on their build. After a couple levels, Seelah will tank most things coming your way and Lann will be exploding things from afar. And later on you will get powerful spellcasters like Daeran or Nenio who can offer you a full range of buffs to cast before entering dungeons.

This game became rlly " outdated" after bg3 release, wait, I'm not a dnd or bg3 fan boy that thinks dnd / bg3 is the dream world of crpg. This game got aged only in the gameplay and narrative perspective ( obviously as it's a very old game), but, in system perspective this game kicks bg3 in the nuts. Pathfinder is heavy, I mean very heavy in rulles, mechanics, way more classes and combo classes that bg3 or dnd 5.0 can offer.
@KisosMackleond2 ай бұрын
Course every dream comes to a end. I like bg3 but I rlly don't like dnd 5.0, they sacrificed game depth to favor simplicity ( aiming for newcomers I guess), and as far as I know ( I'm outdated) pathfinder 2.0 will do the same, maybe not as much as dnd 5.0.

Wow did u just sold this game or scared people away? Hard to say since so many not for everyone stuff. If this game looks hard to understand there is an auto lvl for Char and companions options which is pretty decent. I personally use it on 3 out of 5 of my companions and doing OK on core difficulty. Also don't make my mistake -dont buy this game on consoles. It's a mess on ps5 with lags and crashes. Controls are nice tho. Get pc version and download some mods which make this amazing game even better.

OK tbh, in terms of story, Trickster is one of the worst Mythics; Lich and Angel are best, followed by Azata, Aeon and Demon.
@andersonrosa66454 ай бұрын
I haven't seen Trickster but agree about the rest; Azata has the best highs but the most boring lows. About the ones you didn't mention, Devil is very well made (one of the best late-game experiences), and Gold Dragon is pretty cool despite the early issues. I'm not a fan of Legend, but that's mostly a personal lore thing. Aeon has a nice concept but some choices are just unbearable to me; I guess that means Owlcat did a good job.
