Fun fact; the Bunny cactus is a species of the prickly pear (opuntia) genus! So, really, you were right to call it pear cactus after all! 🤓😁

Yay! Nopales are typically eaten within something else like tacos or a sauce. They taste better that way, imo. Good job! 😊

Others have already said Mexico is North America but I also wanted to say it’s not uncommon for Mexican restaurants to sell these too! First one I had was in a taco and it was so gooood I’ve been trying to recreate it ever since 😊

Some of y’all in the comments need to get over yourselves 🙄, the genus Opuntia is native to North, Central, and South America, ranging from southern Canada down to Argentina, and while this particular species is native to Mexico, it’s an honest mistake, good grief people 😂
