I spent a day in Japan's 100% TATTOO FRIENDLY onsen town!

The day has finally come for me to enjoy a natural hot spring in Japan without having to cover up all my tattoos :') I want to definitely go back for an overnight stay!
Kinosaki is about 2.5 hrs north of Kyoto. I went around 7 am, did a day pass for ¥1,500 to all 7 of their onsens, ate all the local goods and took a gondola to their mountain top overview. All the onsens in this town is 100% tattoo friendly, and a few are outdoors.
The JR round trip was under ¥120,000, from Kyoto station to Kinosaki station and with the onsen pass and food, I spent under $200. Was able to do everything and get back to Kyoto by 5PM. You can definitely try out all the onsens in a single day if you space it out properly, but if you do enjoy relaxing and love taking hot spring baths, then I would recommend staying overnight at a ryokan!
You can also rent out yukata's and take a bath caddy with you which makes it more convenient if you stay overnight.

You're very pretty! And thanks for the video, I've always wanted to travel to japan but unfortunately have never had the opportunity. Also being someone who is heavily tattooed, I'm afraid I wouldn't fit in!

Aw thanks so much! I always recommend going to see what Japan has to offer just once. For the most part, locals don’t pay much attention to my tattoos or bother me, as long as you’re being respectful of their culture and personal space they leave you be and are usually friendly! I hope this doesn’t deter you and you get a chance to go one day :)

@Kwital oh of course! I've always said to my friends that when visiting another place to always be respectful of someone's culture. It's always been a dream of mine to travel to japan, so I'm hoping one day! I think the only thing that scared me was the judgement based on my tattoos. But then again I am a tourist and they would probably see me as such.
