Designs so great that my brother and I were fighting like an hour trying to figure out what their gameplay would be like, Baltazhar would be such a great sentinel, we think.

It could go any role but mostly a duelist like Reyna or agressive sentinel like Chamber. As a sentinel I see his ult (X) winding up with a ticking sound, then rewinding everything that happened on a giant bubble. The signature (E) is a personal rewind like Tracer or Ekko (also from a Riot game) where he rewinds himself to get out of a tough spot like Chamber, Yoru or Omen would. For (Q) a trap that freezes a maximum of 1 player in time, wouldn't stop a push but it's meant to catch lurkers. (C) could be a smaller bubble that slows enemies down, reload and fire slower. The exact opposite of Brim's stim beacon.

Here me out.. when the Chronometer is thrown and it hits an enemy (like deadlocks gravnet) it could phase/move them to a random location in that molly radius, meaning if they are holding an angle, they will be out of position.

@@Omar04x i like the idea of the trap but i think it'd most likely be a sort of slowdown effect think the slow movement from a chamber but also a sort of reverse effect of the brim stim where their gun would shoot slower and their reload is slower that way it gives people a fighting chance instead of "oh you lurked and now you're insta dead becasue you're frozen" ykwim?

Tipp for the names: Usually the name tells us something about the characters abilities, kit or role. For example Deadlock well creates a deadlock with her Wall. Or Sova means owl in Russian hinting at his owl based gear. Maybe you should try implementing this in your characters names.

Yo this is amazing! I will say in an actual VALORANT context they have some unwritten rules that I've discovered, such as 1) having 1-2 syllables per name (So Balthazar wouldn't fit), 2) having a mix of male and female characters with either an even ratio or one extra (So there would need to be some more female characters added in between these ones) and 3) Each character is from a different country or a very populous country (the overlaps are Viper Brim and Gekko from the US but from different states, and Iso & Sage from China) Absolutely love this regardless, we can tell you had fun creating these!! Hopefully I'll be able to do something similar in the future lol

oh my gosh..!! as a game dev student with focus into character design, these are pretty cool agents that i can truly feel interested in on first glance..! though i may advise, as a big valorant lore/dev fan as well.. jett is not a ninja, nor based on one, she is korean and not japanese. valorant just does a good job of representing where agents hail from + their hobbies/jobs + their personality/beliefs. jett is a chef who was forced to fight and go into hiding. shes quick on her feet like a line cook though she is also representation of the "no backing down" trope with gaming, since she is forced into being a fighter in the lore. + she is interested in knives since she had to fight off her omega counterpart with her cook wear when they first met before she joined the protocol. yoru is also already a biker and a samurai/ninja (his mask came from his past ancestors, giving him stealthy util, though hes still quick to move, since he is a biker), with how popular biker gangs are in biker culture, i would've loved to see another rival figure for yoru that is on a more personal level than phoenix is, since they are rivals out of power and not on their core beliefs like the life you have in a biker gang. i feel revv could have some nice depth exploring his dynamic with yoru in that way. and fade is actually already a goth/punk/cat inspired agent, her prowlers are cats and on the bottom of fades shoes are cat paws! she is from turkey, where it is known that many stray cats live on the streets, so her prowlers are almost like a salute to the stray cats at her home country. i feel a death-inspired agent could've been explored in a more themed way, like clove being immortal and coming off nonchalant from her life as such, that maybe a plague doctor or zombie could've been a nice theme as well for how morgan uses her death ability. i dont mean to give so much advice first without also giving lots of praise, but i love the deep pride, subtle + accurate diversity that valorant has within their characters, gekko sprouted lots of community within the LA community for how well he captured such while still honoring a lot of what formed LA. Though, the art study you done on their style is very well executed and the agents you created do have a lot of potential with the official agents, keeping on par with them. I love how all the designs came out on this lineup and the way you captured their rendering/colours, i just wanted to give some advice too, on someone who probably knows too much about valorant lore lol. i hope this doesn't come off mean or as "correcting" your art since it is very lovely to see this process documented and shared, but you said you didn't want the agents being too similar to the canon ones and i think what i mention here may be helpful for creating more tension/diversity in the cast.

This advice you gave is great if he wants to proceed with making or imaging more Valorant agents, but the already big potential on what he has created is big. jett definitely fulfills the ninja trope, not being japanese doesn't exclude her from that. for example, guilty gear's chipp is clearly a ninja trope so if they added another one it would feel like they're repeating themself. you can tell she was built as a ninja from the ground up and then they justified that later with stuff like "shes good with knives bc she was a chef". for an example from a different trope, omens not a ghost at all. but imagine they made a ghost agent, who's a bit less imaginative and more of a stereotypical ghost. even though omens not a ghost, it would be two characters who fulfill the trope of a ghost.

These designs are so fricking awesome!!! Morgan is my fav she's so cute. I'll take this vid as an opportunity to talk about my own val character and art studies I did of the style lol. My character is a radiant who has sound wave/sonar focused powers, her name is Echo and she's from Finland. What I've learned from studying the official characters is that almost all of them have some type of pouch ot harnesses, there's also a lot of metal parts included in the designs. And that the younger get agents (clove, gekko etc) have more casual clothing, modified to fit Val. For example, if you take some stuff of cloves design, their outfit could work as just a basic fit. Idk the Val art style and designs are so cool hehe

Really good video, these came out really good. I really like Revv and Balthazar's (kinda long name) visual designs, they look really legit. Morgan is really well thought out too. A few comments: If Revv is Yoru's foil, I think a better name for Revv could be something like "Haru" meaning spring, or "Akira" meaning light (especially since he is a biker). Yoru means "night" in Japanese, so these could help hint at Revv being Yoru's foil better. (Though if he were from New Zealand instead of Japan then maybe not?) As much as I like Morgan's final design, something about the early Morgan designs at 3:23 felt perfect which was lacking from the final version. But Morgan's final design is also very good (arguably feels the most "Valorant" out of all of them.) So, maybe the initial Morgan design could be used for the aesthetics of another female character in the future. Fencer guy could be perfect if he just had a little more sauce somewhere on the lower half of his design; feels a bit empty. Otherwise, I love the name you chose for him, Pierce is an A++ name choice.

Morgan is def a controller that uses different spirits from a spell book to get different things Her e could be 2 smokes that you can throw like a Jett smoke but lasts long and deals damage to enemies inside Another ability could be a spirit that you can throw like a skye bird but it will chase people on sight like a fade dog and blow up and give vulnerable if not shot at Last ability is a projectile that arcs like a molly but on landing creates a dome smoke that your teammates can see through but the enemies can’t, it would only last 10 seconds for balancing Her ult sends out spirits for every enemy player that chases down to reveal positions and nearsights every player for 5 seconds.

ive seen quite a few comments about the names feeling off; specifically morgan and balthazar and honestly its valid, lemme give my thought process i basically just brainstormed out a a fk ton of names for each agent, and some of them like pierce and revv just felt RIGHT, but for the witch and the time guy i wasnt too sold on the names. i just couldnt come up with a name that was a stand-out option for those guys. so for them, i went with more association based option; the name morgan just FEELS like a witch's name, rather than being a codename more like Jett or Phoenix. Same with Balthazar, it comes from one of the three biblical magi, so it kind of alludes to old magic which just fits his 'old time guy' design BUT the nice part is that its super easy to change their names lmfao so if u guys have some cool ideas for some better names, drop em in the comments, and i would be glad to change them if there is a dope new option that everyones liking :D

This is kinda unrelated but imagine if Balthazar was an alternate universe version of Ekko and he could have similar ability visual effects. I like the sort of cross over between games and I think presenting him as a new character with that sort of "is that Ekko?" feeling would be cool. Also an old man Ekko that has had his whole life to perfect his powers would be interesting. But great artwork and great video, the biker was definitely my favorite design.

Gameplay concepts: Wolf (Duelist): probably somewhat of a mashup of Neon's out of combat move speed with reyna/iso's combat 'staying power' (some type of heal probably). I think ideally their movement wouldn't feel as 'smooth' or (?)'twitchy' as neons but more akin to something like a freight train that takes a while to accelerate but can move at quite the pace when it gets there. Idea for how that would be implemented would be a) towards all enemy death locations and b) somewhat of a directional warwick w (point in a direction and it will mark the first enemy along that lane within a certain range). Feels like he would have some sort of stun perhaps similar to breach aftershock. I would want to give him a phoenix esque heal but instead of hitting himself w/ abilities it is only activatable withing near melee range of either a fallen enemy or ally. I have wanted an ult that turns you into the drone so give him some invulnerability but lose the ability to anything but melee for a bit or something (probably needs some serious adjustment but I think it is a funny idea) Balthazar (Sentinel): I unironically think old ekko ult (rewind EVERYONE's game 3-5 seconds) would be insanely interesting in valorant. If you get the timing right (both on ability usage and balance wise how long the rewind is) you could get some absolutely ELECTRIC rounds. There will be tons of mind games of which side wants to change what they did versus do you just hold from the exact same angle in the pure audacity of "no way they expect this twice"? Other than that it would probably be too broken to give this character a vyse bramble sized slow field that force reduces ur dpi but that would be thematic and kinda only situationally op (it has no effect if they are pre-aimed on your head but if you have a nasty enough off angle its a ez win which is a different flavor of stun sensor/trapwire/alarmbot) Outside of that their krono-5 seems like a individual stim for a teammate prob movespeed and firerate buff or something. im sleepy so maybe i do rest later idk
