I live in the uk and i caught what i believe where black garden ant queens but, i also saw a queen with a shiny abdomen and my hand went in front of its face when i tried to catch it, i watched as it hesitated for a moment to take in wtf it just say and then it ran away into a crack and i didn’t get to catch it.

2 things: - be careful showing your fingerprints, especially in macro footage. It's unlikely, but people have used high resolution photography to copy people's fingerprints and use them to defeat fingerprint scanners. Less unlikely, also avoid high resolution pictures/footage of keys, they can be use to cut copies. (These might sound a bit paranoid, but they've become more common security attacks recently, so I like to remind people for security awareness) 2 - for termites, just getting one isn't enough, you need a mated pair, king and queen. You can usually tell they're mated/paired when you find two of them, one following the other head to tail. Great video, really enjoyed it 👍🏻 (Not getting much luck with my queen hunt this year in Scotland, the weather's been kinda chaotic, so it's hard to predict flights. And the season seems to be ending soon, with only one mated Black Garden Ant queen found *sigh*)

Thank you for looking out for me! I was wary about that too with my fingerprint, but you can't see it fully. Thinking about changing the thumbnail too tomorrow to see if another performs better. And yeah I heard about that with the keys thing, its crazy. I couldn't find a pair for the termite at the end of the trip so I ended up releasing it back where I found it so hopefully it will find it's pair. If you're able to buy queens, I'd say that's your best bet out there! Bestest of luck

Oh wow, South Africa has some amazing ants so I hope you'll be able to find cool queens. That's an interesting idea. I never tried that before but if you have a black light and wet soil, it could attract queens and get them to dig a founding chamber.

I think these two names would do well Firstly I would like to recommend the endermyrmicine It works well because there are thousands of different genre, and millions who watch those different genres. It helps to represent our love for ants by making us our own sub-family of youtube distinguishing us like different ant species! Also being unique is something that is amazing, and you cant ask for something more than being unique like your own person or family, like the endermyrmicine! I only had a yellow crazy ants and 1 unknown species but the queen is orange and its small and had some workers but i dont know if they broke out of their nest but i sometimes seeing some workers of the same species😊

Last year and prior when this was recorded I wasn’t allowed to keep feeder insects. But no worries now, I have lots of food to feed them 😎

And also, you seem like a great guy, but u feed moths to your ants?? They dont have much protein in them, and they are not a really good food, if you order mealworms, crickets or roaches (which are the best) and u dont wanna breed them, just put them in the freezer, and give it to the ants.

At the time I wasn't allowed to keep most feeder insects anywhere in the house, and I wouldn't have anyone to take care of the mealworms I had in the past so that's why I've been feeding moths. This summer I was able to get mealworms again and freeze dried crickets so I've been feeding them that
