I Spent the Day With Salem's Satanists & Witches

In this video, I spent the day with Satanist witches in Salem, Massachusetts, aka “The Witch City.” Growing up in Beverly, MA, which is right next door to Salem, I always had a fascination with witchcraft and the history of Salem.
Now a place for modern witches to practice freely, just a few hundred years ago, Salem experienced a Witch Hunt that has gone done in history. The Salem Witch Trials began in January of 1692 and by September, only nine months later, 19 people were executed by hanging, 1 man was pressed with stones, and hundreds of others died in jail. While some were tortured to confession, many maintained their innocence.
Long before the Salem Witch Trials began in the 1400s with the European witch trials. At the end of the 14th century, the plague wiped out nearly one-third of the population. Survivors strived to find an explanation and many pointed their fingers at witches, labeling single women or those who held knowledge of ancient folklore as working for Satan. Hundreds were burned and tortured during this time.
After the Puritans settled in Massachusetts Bay around 1630, the community would suffer years of hardship to find their way in the New World. Including failure of crops, famine, war, a smallpox epidemic, and a mini Ice age. Tensions ran high and the community sought answers. January of 1692 marked the beginning of the famous Salem Witch Trials. It all started when daughter Reverend Samuel Parris, Betty Parris, and her cousin Abigail Williams began “having fits.” Doctors had no answers so it was suggested that they must be bewitched. Soon, other girls in Salem Village began having the same afflictions and the community began to panic. When asked who is bewitching them, they name three names: Sarah Good, Sarah Osbourne, and Tituba, the slave of Reverend Parris. People fear that the Devil is loose in Salem and is controlling a secret coven of witches to cause harm. With this, the hysteria heightens and hundreds of people are accused, arrested, and thrown in jail.
Going into this experience I’ll admit that I definitely had some fears about being around Satanists and witches who I didn’t know. I had no idea what these people were going to be like. But after spending time with Thomas, Pixie, and Sarah-Frankie, I ended up learning so much and really getting to know the human beings in front of me. I realized I had no reason to be afraid of them and my fears were only coming from the fear of the unknown. My new friends taught me so much about history, religion, and their belief system and I absolutely loved spending the day with them. This experience was an incredible reminder to release judgment of others and if you take the time to get to know someone, you might be surprised by what you learn.

For example the rule of three, this rule is a part of the Wicca religion and a lot of witches do not believe in it because they're simply not wiccan. I remember being a kid and reading about the witch trials which (somehow) lead me through studying the earlier European Inquisition, and to the Templar and Cathar trials. What they all have in common is the struggle of regular people trying to lay claim to both worldy and transcendent knowledge, and being punished for it by those who have believed that knowledge should be reserved only for a few elite. So the thing about peppercorns is funny. Peppercorns came from India- specifically South India. peppery or pippory is a word from a South Indian language(Tamil). It seems ancient Indians when they were the wealthiest people in the world were obsessed with gold and gold jewelry. They used to trade their abundant spices in exchange for gold with people all over the world. Cannot imagine exchanging spices with gold but must have been fun lol

Yea, I can understand that bcz the value of something simply boils down to what a person or group of people sees as valuable or even what a society has been conditioned to believe has value. So when there’s something that is abundant in one part of the world, & if that same item is scarce in another part, it’s not going to carry the same value. So if there’s a need or demand for that item where it’s scarce, there’s going to be more value placed on it because people want/need said item. So as a person who’s always known gold to be a very valuable material, & peppercorns to be incredibly cheap, of course you can’t fathom that being a fair trade. But let’s take something like penicillin. We all know that penicillin changed the world of medicine & health everywhere. It was found to save people’s lives as it cleared certain common infections - ones that actually killed people daily. This is a very inexpensive medicine that’s mass produced & costs next to nothing to make. BUT, how much would you pay for a prescription of it to save a dying family member if you couldn’t get it? Even though it has very little monetary value, I bet you’d give a lot if you thought for example a family member would die without it. Value is relative & to me gold isn’t super valuable in my life but it’s only valuable because I know other people want it, so it holds value, but gold isn’t going to be worth anything in a 3rd world country where people are starving. What’s valuable there is food and water. So, now you see how the value placed on something is relative to its need.
