Yeah new players get the best experience: You hear about this great online site to practice called dueling book, nice! You create your account and build your dark magician deck. First game! You lose the throw and the opponent goes first. It’s infernoble knights. He proceeds to activate 5 cards in succesion that have full fledged essays as card text, you try to keep up but decide just to watch, too much text. At some point the opponent prompts you to show your hand, you try to scramble to see whats hapenning and your opponent grows impatient. In fear you show your hand and discard a card after being told so. After more moves its finally your turn! You activa dark magic circle. A counter is removed from a sychro, not to worry lets search our deck. Opponent (the ever representant of dueling books amicable environment) gets more frustred and calls a judge. At this point fear and nervousness take over. You close dueling book and block the url so you dont ever make the mistake of entering again. Welcome to yugioh 2020.

Aurelio Ribeiro You hit the nail on the head bro lol. I always tell new players to start on dueling nexus since it’s entirely automated. That way, even if they fuck up, they can’t get in a situation where they’re breaking the rules by accident or breaking the game state and needing a judge. Dueling Book is for after your get a handle on the game/know some of the cards that people commonly use.

To be fair to Endymion, 90% of the text issues is literally because of the phrase "Spell Counters". there isn't a word in the english language that can describe "A monster who is applicable to receive spell counters" (or however endymion's text says it), so in order to refer to those types of cards you'd have to repeat that phrase EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.

Seriously, konami needs to come up with key words to replace this long strings of text. Magic the Gathering has been doing it for years. How long did it take them to start using "If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage"? And even that can be shortened to: "This card inflicts piercing damage".

@@luchotenks2310 It goes both ways. MtG has "Search your library for a X card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library." YGO has "Add a X card from your deck to your hand." And "Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery" is godawful. They could learn from each other. (There's stuff like 'GY', too, though that's only really necessary in YGO _because_ the rest of the text is so long, lol)
