Starting over in life at over 50 is not easy. There's so many things to consider, specially when it comes to finances. It can be difficult to know what help you can get and where to get the help that you need. In this video I share what I've learnt, how I learnt to live on benefits, looking for a job and what has helped me survive starting over at over 50.

I'm a 57 year old man who has struggled for years with anxiety since I was 10 years old, I was married for 26 years, have two adult daughters, and very proud of both of them. I've been divorced and living alone for 8 years now and counting. I struggled at first with being alone, but over the years had learned a lot about myself. I have not been in a relationship since my divorce, I thought it is best to work on myself first, as I felt this is important. You have to love yourself before you can love others. I subscribed cause I resonate with your struggles, your vulnerable, and how you're working to overcome them one day at a time. I wish you the best and will keep watching to see what you have next.

Just found your channel. I stayed in a marriage for way to long without love, kindness or even a kiss. I was terrified of starting over and being alone. I finally 'escaped' at 60 but it was so hard. I am in the USA and lived with assisstance from gov. agencies until I was eligible for social security. At that time I got $800 a month. BUT when he died, I was able to draw his social security since we were married over 10 years....My income jumped to over $3000!!! He would roll over in his grave if he could... I got the last laugh. Thank you for sharing your journey. Blessings & hugs from a sister in America~

I am Filipino American single woman at 51 years. I am single for 10+ years after divorce and currently this year I started another relationship. It has been a rollercoaster of inner awareness and to be more kind to myself. Like you, I am also more attuned to my physical and mental health no matter what. You are not alone. I am grateful to have found your channel. You are brave to put yourself out there and share your life. Much blessings in this part of your inner journey.

You are a brave woman and don't underestimate the courage it takes to break away and learn to be independent. There is so much judgment if you leave especially if you have to go on benefits but your mental health is all that matters not what others think. Let them walk a mile in your shoes and see how they would cope, Blessings to you. x

Learning so much from you. When I go food shopping I love finding those reduced items! I class it as my little win against supermarkets that pay their top bosses obscene amounts of salary and bonuses, don't be ashamed, treat it like a win. Everyone is looking for bargains these days and no one notices if you are too.

What I'm getting from this is that you're a survivor, so that's massively to your credit. From my own experience, I believe that very few relationships work out long term. It's better to master being independent and having a few best friends, than living with someone and expecting it to last. I'm gobsmacked that The System is taking more than half your income though. That's just downright theft! It's partly why I left fulltime work years ago, to create an offgrid smallholding in Cumbria and live very comfortably from a below taxation threshold income. Stay strong 🙏

Thank you for being here. You're right about relationships. I think that we never really know what happens behind closed doors in those seemingly perfect relationships. As for the system, it's a case of two steps forward and one step back. It's rubbish I know, but it has helped me. Otherwise it may have been a different situation. Having a small holding sounds lovely! I'd love to be able to do the same one day 😍
@spindelnett6315
@spindelnett6315 3 ай бұрын
@SoulCareOver50 It took a lot of blood, sweat, tears, burnt bridges and lost friends to create my smallholding. But it's proven to be the most important life decision I've ever made, and is paying back at last. My first guest cabin has now been built, of materials from my land and I'm crossing my fingers that guests will love staying there, free of WiFi and the daily demands of city life. It's a beautiful landscape here.

Oh God Honey, it really hit me hard seeing you being overcome by your emotions at 2:43 in your video. Please know and understand you are worthy of deep and profound respect just as you are. My god you are an exceptional human being with a very high Emotional IQ. In life there are so many people who have no empathy, are cruel, who thrive on denigrating those around them. I experience those type of people everyday in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA where I live, so please understand what you are experiencing is the norm in many places. Cruelty, and thoughtlessness are inculcated into vile people's souls from a very young age, and they are incapable of seeing it, or recognizing it as evil. As an American my own experiences are not that different from your own. Some emotional themes in life are universal no matter where you live. From my own personal perspective you are on the right path, you are growing spiritually and emotionally which is to be commended. Now I am give you my verdict, you are highly intelligent, have a high emotional IQ, are grounded in reality, aesthetically beautiful, and elegant. I have no idea where you live, but I sincerely wish you well on your journey.

@@SoulCareOver50 I brought up my physical health updates b/c you mentioned somewhere about you joining a gym even though you are getting thru some financial challenges. The physical activity and exercise has a direct correlation to your mental health and I'm glad you've joined the gym. Results I noticed with my changes: - I don't 'huff n puff' by going up a flight of stairs to my apartment or up a small incline in the community where I live - My brain feels 'lighter' - I don't know if that makes sense (but it does to me) - I can clip my toenails without issue - LOL!!! - And, of course, clothing fits (or fits better) *I need to work on muscle physical strength and I have literally just started doing yoga. About Me: July/2023 - 265 pounds/120.2 kg March/2024 - 220 pounds/99.79 kg -I'm 6'1"/1.85 meters -Alcohol Free since July/2023 to ensure weight loss success ----------- PS: You got me - and probably every single person (who has a heart) right in the feels at 2:40 - when you tell people, "Be kind to yourself. Be really really kind to yourself." You teared up a little and took a time out. You were reminding yourself while telling us. And this is a challenge you have currently and will overcome. I teared up a little here and I felt your pain. I felt my own brain needing to hear 'Be really really kind to yourself." I understand looking for and buying the yellow sticker on food that will expire and cooking it or putting it in the freezer. Your message is strong and powerful. I don't think you realize how many people you are going to reach with your videos because in 1 year, if you keep going down this path, you are going to see something magical as you and we get to see your continued transformation. (You may also like DanaFindwell (on youtube) she is re-starting also). Thank you for sharing your journey. I'll keep watching if you keep posting. 😊 It's 640 AM here and time for my 4 mile walk. Peace. -JC

I don’t need any job chairs. I just wish I could learn about my neurodivergent and how to master in Gainesville. I don’t have in order to go back to things I could’ve done like graduate and professional school. Do you know what I mean at the very least I would just go back to my old joband 1 million places would accept me in a heartbeat or I could just start it myself but I just don’t want to cause it. It wasn’t enough to live on and I’m not a side hustle person. I don’t know how to explain that to people but they’re just things you learn that
