It’s not a big deal that you didn’t get a golf cart, we can’t always get what we want. Life goes on. You can literally play a drinking game with how many times you said you didn’t get a golf cart. Also, look up how to use charcoal grill. You don’t create a giant fire with it. That’s why Disney only wants you to use charcoal so you don’t create large fires. 🔥

Camped in a pop-up camper for many years…then a small motor home for many years…also twice in the cabins. Stayed there almost every year since the early 80s.

My grandparents took us every year pretty much from 5 yo to 13 yo. From Pensacola and we’d travel down in their RV and stay at Ft Wilderness. Awesome memories and I’ve now taken 3 of my RVs down to Ft wilderness in the last 10 yrs. I’m 40 and love it. FL resident pass holder here.

Hilton head has charcoal grills, and one main wood grill near the main house. Still can’t believe you haven’t been there yet. You don’t know what you’re missing.

We stayed at Contemporary until Grand Floridian was built then moved over to to the Grand. We did stay at Wilderness Lodge Resort a time or two. Now the whole family knows this Grandmommy will only stay at the Grand. So many memories for our family there. We watched out kids and now grandkids growing up there!!

I grew up going to disney every year staying at fort wilderness. We either used a camper or a tent. Tent was horrible in the summertime because of the heat but it still gives me a lot of very good memories.

i remember staying in a RV at ft. wilderness back in '91 (i'm old!) when they had that sketchy waterpark in the lake and a rock slide with that a huge drop into the pool. scary slide but the best! and i hope the new reno doesn't ruin the "wilderness" aspect completely.

I am tired of Disney thinking we have to be “upgraded”. The joy of staying at Fort Wilderness is the wilderness in a wood cabin, NOT some futuristic metal and plastic tin can. Disney? Leave stuff alone!!!! Not everyone wants to be “futuristic”.

Thanks for the enjoyable vlog. Great walk thru memory lane for myself, this was our family "affordable" on property accommodation when visiting Disney World in the 80's!! Later moved up to "tree house" villas with more family members attending that was enjoyable as well. Don't like but sorta understand the need to "enhance" the accommodations for more modern amenities to stay current, but it might lose the charm it has. You guys r fun group together. At least Kevin had the good sense to watch one of the better college games of the weekend!! Go Bucks!! OH - ??!!

I never had the pleasure of staying in a Fort Wilderness Cabin growing up, but it looks like a fun experience. My family did stay in cabins, though; mostly up by Lake Superior. Beautiful memories all around.

I have to agree with you on the cabins; leave them alone and as they are with 'refreshment' as necessary, i.e. maintenance when needed. Afterall, it's the Wilderness!

We always stayed at the contemporary growing up went every year. It was my dads favorite. Now we stay DVC so we stay mostly at poly. I’m so happy my husband bought into DVC. It’s so expensive paying cash.

Fort Wilderness is the best!! We have a camper so it’s been a while since I stayed in a cabin, but I love them!! We are DVC Members so I may have to book a new one to check it out!! Sorry you didn’t get a cart😢. We love going looping there in the evenings. Next time 😊

My thoughts on the cabins are it’s so saaaad it’s fine redoing it so it makes sense to have more room for adults and updating amenities but why make it looks so instagram-y and why not keep the theme of the east coast wood cabinsss

@@andreiaassis6003​​⁠there isn’t really any parking for vehicles besides at the campsites or cabins and in the over flow parking lot. But technically not forbidden, just not anywhere or reason for you to drive your vehicle around when there are people walking around, riding bikes, golf carts.

Me, personally, I would have liked Disney to keep Fort Wilderness the way it currently is, and not change it to some modern, futuristic building. That's the charm of Fort Wilderness...the feel of the woods, camping, the coziness, etc. Also, I love the way Casey always turns "lemons into lemonade". 2:18.. “They look nice. They look MODERN”.. That’s EXACTLY the problem. Whomever made the decision to re-build these CLASSIC cozy-looking, TRUE cabins of the Ford Wilderness, is an idiot. Disney is ruining their own grounds so much. These cabins, as_they_are, they’re perfect and it instantly makes me think of Yogi-bear, Chip and Dales, etc. When I look at the new coming cabins they lack so much charm - and soul! Way to go Disney, f’ing up yet another beautiful classic place in Disney World.

I grew up going to the Fort in our RV with my family in the 70s and 80s. I’m DVC now but we have brought an RV and also stayed in the cabins with my kids a few times as well. We have so many great memories from Fort Wilderness. I wish they weren’t changing the log cabin exteriors. The new style does not fit in with the theming.

Even though i am shocked that they dont have golf carts stocked enough for each cabin to have 2 so this doesn't happen to a family. kinda annoying you have to pre book them. However, I love when Casey's family is in the vlogs, as someone said it feels like its meant to be. Love the vlogs and thanks for sharing your stay with us!

Kyle: Camp Wilderness is known for its Halloween decorations and lights. Can you send a POV down? For Christmas, it’s just as insane with all the pretty lights going up in just a few months. During December, Resortv1 goes LIVE from the light tour using a golf cart. Tourists that dislike Disney World reference Fort Wilderness as a mobile home park.
