The excitement I have for Legends: Z-A is immeasurable. Pokemon X was my first real Pokemon game, and Legends: Arceus is one of the most refreshing Pokemon experiences I've ever had. To combine the two, and give Kalos a second chance after the wasted potential of Gen 6, its like a dream come true. Usually when fans hear that a game is delayed, they get disappointed... But not this time. Pokemon games NEVER get the time to cook that they need, and the fact that this time GameFreak is actually taking an extra _year_ to work on it fills me with so much hope. Its going to be hard to wait that extra year, but I know its going to be worth it.

Gamefreak has a really small game developers team if compared with other studios. There so much pression from Nintendo and investors to release dates and it's virtually impossible to do that without commiting errors and bug with so little time frame. Just to review code, bugs and have a really good music production like in the first ones it takes TIME or investing in contract more developers to their team.

Something I don't say in the video is what you're pointing out here. I absolutely agree that the games cannot improve without more time allotted. However, the games have always recycled things from previous games. We are now so many years into the switch, I think there is a stronger foundation moving forward than when they were first getting their footing. I know that can sound absurd looking at how Scarlet & Violet turned out, but I think that game being so embarrassing is the exact reason we aren't hearing any updates now. There is a massive difference between Z-A releasing in January and November. If it's January my hopes won't be as high. But even in that case, this video applies generally and not just Z-A. And if Pokémon is going to take their sweet time making real improvements, that's what the Slumber section is for 😅

You are really good at setting the tone to videos. The music, the pacing, the dialogue. Top notch man!!

So I think I have a somewhat interesting perspective to offer on the current state of the franchise. I fell out of the fandom around Generation III and have only been rediscovering the series in the last few months. Of course, I've heard plenty about the issues with the modern games but on balance, I still feel the good massively outweighs the bad. There is still so much joy to be found in so many obscure corners of this cultural behemoth, enough to revive my love of the series after it's laid dormant for close to 2 decades. Criticism is good and a fandom should never be so blinded by nostalgia that they stop addressing modern flaws but neither should that criticism descend into reactionary outrage at everything new. Bad games and scummy business practices are disappointing but at the end of the day, what matters most is the community. How many utterly transformative ROM hacks have there been? How often has new life been breathed into even the oldest games as fans invent new challenges and tinker with nearly 30-year-old code? As long as there are people who care, there will always be hope for Pokémon.

Well said :) Poketubers have been a massive part of my life. And IRL connection and bonding with other fans of the franchise has always been massively relevant. What makes Pokémon good (beyond all I said in the video) is how much of a catalyst it is for the best of human nature. Oh, and Gen 3 is my favorite 😁

Good video! Correction on the BDSP section. ILCA was forced to copy and paste the same slop of Diamond and Pearl with little to no creative freedom. We’d say it was lazily expressed from the Pokémon company themselves instead here. Music was a bit loud making your voice a bit hard to hear, captions helped but noticed they discontinued later in the video. Overall nice improvements!

Do we have confirmation that they were made to? I know it's possible, I just phrased it that way because their name is on the project. Thanks for the feedback, I'll work on making audio more consistent next time

@@secretvillageYeah overseen by Masuda throughout the whole thing despite the lack communication or attention brought to it. They had ILCA just facilitate the recreation of the game using the same fundamental code.

@@BigNation1 I remember Masuda oversaw it, I just didn't realize we had enough info to confirm who was responsible for which decisions

I hate to say this but i don't think pokemon is gonna change. The games have more glitches than sonic 06. Over half the dex is missing. The music feels soulless now. The latest games literally had no postgame content. And they got rid of cool megas and replaced them with increasingly lazier gimmicks. Now pokemon can be turned into crystals and have a different type💀 such a good trade off for mega evolutions🙄 but back to what i was saying they made all these bad decisions to screw up pokemon beyond repair and it still sells like gold. Gamefreak could literally make a game that's not funtional at all and there's just a title screen and you can't even play the game and it would STILL sell millions. Gamefreak won't change cause they don't have to. Why spend money and time making a masterpiece when you can just throw some trash together and it'll sell just as fine. Honestly pokemon is a lost cause now. But atleast legends ZA will bring back megas. So atleast there's that. Also apparently the other 2 companies that own pokemon nintendo and creatures inc has gotten onto gamefreak about scarlet and violet's quality. So hopefully the games will start to rise in quality thougj my hopes are low cause they JUST released the dlc for sv almost coming onto 2024 and they are planning on ANOTHER release in 2025. So my hopes are very low. But still there.

i did but they sue palworld there actuality competition. game will stay shit, nothing new
@secretvillageКүн бұрын
Pokémon was dropping gems when they had no competition. I definitely think other franchises pushing them to do better is healthy, but the games being good is up to them regardless. You could very well be right and they don't improve, we'll see.
