I Still Love the Deluge!
A few days ago I made a video talking about how the Polyend Tracker has become my favorite groovebox that I've tried so far. A lot of folks seemed to think that I was simultaneously putting the Deluge down, which just isn't true! In fact, I still love the Deluge! From a standpoint of pure objectivity, it might even be the best standalone groovebox available. So today I figured we'd just have a simple little jam, while I talk about how much I like using the Deluge. Enjoy the video :)

For DAWless jamming I still can't beat the deluge for ease of use and additional flexibility. If you just want a variety sounds to sequence and layer, it can do that. If you want to mess with the ADSR for the sounds, add your own samples, or control modular with CV out, you can do all that too. I find the array of buttons very intuitive for sequencing, jamming, and noodling in general. Best of all, it's portable and I can do all this on the train, in a park, in a hotel, on lunch break at work, etc.

Same here - love the Polyend Tracker workflow, but the power of the Deluge is unbeatable…. EXCEPT for that missing stem export! 😅

Wish it had limitless samples layers for the kits like the instruments(it’s currently got two), and wish it had multi-audio usb out. Then I could sell some of my other boxes.

What about the PO33? Can you do a video on how to best use the K.O. for adding vocals to House tracks...? 👍

The 33 is awesome! Are you making the tracks completely on the PO-33, or are you using the 33 to work on a track elsewhere?

@@FreeBeat I pulled the Novation Circuit out of the cupboard and have found it to be just fine for live jamming out a little house beat, but if I could just figure out how to identify cool, vocal chops and work them into my jams... Any chance you could demonstrate it?

In my opinion it's a really strong exaggeration to call it a great bang for the buck at that pricepoint with the lack of a basic feature like exporting stems into a DAW. Have a look on the Roland MC 101 which is less than half the price, you can instant record four tracks into your DAW, you can have basically infinite tracks if you reloop them with a looper track and more portable than the deluge. Also with the new firmware you have extreme deep sound design capabilities of Zenology within the groovebox.

I just meant in terms of a completely standalone box :)
@jaysire
@jaysire Жыл бұрын
I see where you're coming from. I have both and I would say that what really gives bang for the buck is the sequencer and all associated functions. The MC-101 has really good sounds, but is pretty frustrating to sequence.

Really nice pads on Deluge, but on Play it’s imo easier to select multiple pads just drawaing a line with your finger because it’s surface has less friction. Haven’t tried Tracker.

Learning curve: Deluge vs. Polytracker ?????
@FreeBeat
@FreeBeat Жыл бұрын
The Deluge is MUCH harder to learn. It's got no screen, and there are a zillion different button and knob combinations to memorize. The Tracker can get very complicated, but the screen makes the learning process a lot easier.
