I did this when the kids were still at home. I shopped every second Saturday and cooked every second Sunday, saved time and money! I also made a weekly menu that I taped to the inside of a cupboard so the family knew what was being served everyday, it was the smartest thing I did 🙂.

I worked and went to nursing school so started precooking, packaging and freezing with "seal a meal" for my daughter including her favorite breakfast french toast. And when my granddaughter came along she spent a lot of time with me so I did the same for her. I also included my granddaughter in meal preparation and now she is a fantastic cook and continues the tradition with her children. Just like you I included a lot of beans. I'm now retired and my husband took up cooking when he retired, but I still like to cook and freeze especially fish, beans fresh vegetables, rice and grains.

I dont really subscribe to a lot of channels on youtube but im subscribing to yours because I am very impressed by not only the quality of your content but also the positive attitude you have, and the fact that you're a married Christian woman with children like myself and those are hard to find on youtube. I am trying to surround myself by content creators who have my same core values and you happen to be one of them so thank you for that. Also, you help to broaden cultural horizion of those outside of your country. So much content on you tube is from American and UK creators, its not often as an American scrolling through youtube that you find content creators from Africa on your youtube feed, so its really nice to watch your videos and be able to learn about the tasty looking foods that people from other cultures such as yours like to make. Thank you for putting yourself out there like that. ❤

It's wonderful that your children are able to watch you and be involved - that's the best way to learn! My mother used to turf us all out of the kitchen when she was cooking in the interests of time and while I understand why she did it, unfortunately we grew up not really leaning how to cook. I had to teach myself as an adult off KZbin. It's so important to involve the kids when they are young and enthusiastic to learn - even if it takes a bit longer that way. Your kids are very lucky ❤

You have a lot of energy if you did all this on the same day. But I can see it must be satisfying as you can take a really good rest the next day and have easy meals the whole month😅 Me, I do this once a week. So I cook like 2 sets of meals with 3 days worth each. We eat 1 , freeze the other 2. So we get 2 fresh meals + 4 freezer meals. Some days we get takeout, eat out or just have something I simply put together on the spot like fried rice/ noodles. So this works fine for us. But I am motivated to have more freezer meals so I have ' stock' for weeks I don't prep. Am going to work on that.

Hello, thank you so much for this video. I really needed this motivation. My only question is where did you get your pots for cooking from? I’m in the US and the pots here are not made for heavy African cooking.
