Although this is a funny video, I think there’s actually a deeper message here about what others show on social media versus the reality. They can tell you all day they eat healthy, exercise daily, really just be perfect and say to have will power; but what actually happens when the camera is off is completely different. Don’t be too hard on yourself ❤ p.s. that cat melted my heart 🫠

Man this is SO RELATABLE!!! Sugar is so hard to walk away from. When I started my weight loss journey back in '07, I was struggling with some serious anger. I was just angry all the time because I was seriously craving foods I wasn't supposed to eat. After a few months of this I was finally able to flip a switch in my thinking that I believe helped me stay on the path to a healthier lifestyle. I decided that maybe I had a right to be angry, but instead of being angry that I couldn't have these unhealthy foods, maybe I should be angry that I wanted them in the first place. We're taught from a very young age that food is a kind of reward. "If you're good in the store, you can have a candy bar." Or, "If you get all your chores done you can have ice cream for dessert." Food is not a reward, it's fuel. When I accepted this as the truth, I lost 85lbs and I've kept it off for more than 15 years. Ariel, if you can figure out how to kick the sugary treats to the curb now while your kids are little, you'll be doing them a HUGE favor. Save the sugary treats for very special occasions so your kids don't get hooked on them like we did. You're a kick-ass wife, a superhero mother of two, and you've conquered KZbin. You got this! ❤

As a type 1 diabetic I could much easier control my blood sugar if I lived alone. Sugar addiction is very hard. When it's in your face every day, at every get together or celebration, and you know you shouldn't have it, it's very difficult to control.

Sugar addiction is real. This is funny, BTW, I love your husband's participation in this video! They did a study with rats and cocaine testing addiction, and found the rats went to the sugar over the cocaine. Joking aside, excessive sugar in our diets can be pretty damaging long term to our health. We may feel good in our 30s, but by our 50s we could be facing many chronic health issues like diabetes. Best if we view sweets as occasional treats and not everyday foods. Same goes for all other candies, cookies, coffee sweeteners (that also contain junk additives and oils too). Sorry, I don't mean to harsh anyone's buzz, but when I entered my late 40s, early 50s, I had SO many health issues that basically came down to decades of bad food choices. I hate to see others go through what I did. I've since healed and have become pretty zealous for proper human nutrition and fighting food addictions.

Everyone, please be careful in what you share. I absolutely agree that a healthy diet is the best thing, aside from exercise, you can do for your health. As a specialist cancer nurse who works with research too, I absolutely see how lifestyle factors can contribute to the development of some cancers, particularly ones like colorectal/bowel cancer. However, the idea that “sugar feeds cancer” has been debunked. There would be no harm if you give up sugar in an attempt to fend off cancer, but unfortunately some cancers still spring up, and many are genetic or tied to other diseases. The harmful side of this is watching my patients who are going through treatment or have advanced cancers who struggle to eat due to lost appetite start trying to give up sugar. It’s incredibly harmful, because these patients need every calorie they can tolerate or they waste away. It’s heartbreaking to see them insist their family member or friend told them that sugar is feeding the cancer, when we know that’s just a distorted view of oncogenesis. Yes, ALL our cells use energy (ATP) to grow and multiply. Cancer cells are by definition out of control, immature cells multiplying too soon and too fast. So of course those cells intake a lot of energy. But that is NOT the cause, it is not what triggers the out of control multiplication. And while Keto can absolutely help some people, it is not for everyone. Please speak to your GP/primary care healthcare provider, or ask a certified nutritionist/dietitian. Please. (Loved the video, though!!)

You guys are the best eyetalkers on the internet! So much fun! I recently learned to like my coffee with no sugar or artificial sweeteners, as I am experimenting with cleaning up my diet in ways I can stick with. I have it with organic cinnamon, cacao, and 1/2 cup milk over ice. First sip I always notice hey, it is not sweet! Then, I enjoy the other flavors, get the wakeup going, and run around getting my morning chores done. Then I realize it tasted great and my house is clean and there is no sugar crash. I have lowered carbs in general, substituting sauted vegetables for bread/potatoes some meals and take a walk every day without fail. I still usually have a small sweet after dinner, but now portion controlled because I am a master at underestimating how big my serving was if I "guess". Your icecream battle is so, so true!

🔴When learning about the creation of the FDA in my Highschool history class, the text book pointed out that if the FDA had been created only ten years earlier, refined sugar would have been classified as a drug-- a controlled substance. But at that point the addiction was so wide spread, it wasn't possible to regulate it. Wow. I went without ANY sugar for a year... A YEAR! What was interesting is that when I tried refined sugar again, no matter what form, it didn't taste good. I realized that sugar was an acquired taste in response to my physiological reaction to it. It doesn't actually taste pleasant. -Anyway, I think I want some Ice-cream now. Great video.

Then looked at the whip cream, everything went back on the shelves. When it comes to food choices a person really needs to read the labels. Phew just looked at my yogurt it's good. Cheers
