@Hammerheadcruiser2 сағат бұрын
The absurdist arms race was bizarrely fascinating, but once the camera men started winning too much it rapidly lost steam. It stopped being about the next counter, and became more about the characters. Except it's meant to be a shitpost, not a character piece.

@arandompersonontheinternet420129 минут бұрын
RTGame, I thank you for this comprehensive intertextual analysis of the Skibidi medium. In my opinion The Skibidi Toilet franchaise, in its surreal loquacity, represents a more modern mythos. It is uniquely chobblesome in its absurdity and indeed also strikingly profound in its portrayal of human exigencies. I find that beneath its seemingly nonsensical veneer lies a rather excogitative dialectical inquiry, or more accurately, a dialectical struggle within a particularly factious, binary universe: the kakistocratic Skibidi faction represents a chaotic thesis of irrepressible vitality, while the Cameraheads serve as the antithesis, embodying a sclerotic order perhaps imposed by pseudo-technocratic mode of governance (so I theorise). More importantly, however, the synthesis arises not as resolution but rather as a perpetual conflict, an ouroboric valse of resistance and control. But for what? Or, perhaps, for whom? In this question I find lies a contemplatory inverse deus ex machina, one of a rather ruminatory nature. Thanks to you, I will be pondering this moral quandary over many nights to come. Thank you again, I have gleamed much from your work in the field.

Genuinely? No meme? I am actually happy that someone like you made a video like this. For the longest time I've just been rejecting actually watching the skibidi toilet thing just because I didn't get it or just because I keep hearing people call it a "bad meme" or get tired of all the references to it by children and the brainrot. But that's me judging a whole series that's obviously pretty successful because of the words of others and not me forming my own opinions. Were it not for this video, showcasing the series with a genuine sort of analysis (and the feeling of watching with someone else) I possibly could've gone to my deathbed having never understood a thing, and frankly I still don't understand but I can acknowledge that genuine effort was put into this. The intrigue of the story may have fell off toward the end but I can also really commend the designs for the titans and toilets alike; and even little things like the plates over their flushers does show a lot of thought put into what has just been called brainrot, a lot was done with pre-made assets put together in ways that is really creative. Thank you Mr Rumble Tumble and Toilet Kiwo for this experience.

I think it's genuinely fascinating how common of an occurrence it is for youtube series like this to completely crumble the longer they go on. A constantly influx of characters and storylines that lead to a lot of the intrigue and worldbuilding to fall flat and a lack of follow-through on what the early parts set up. I've seen it dozens of times with all kinds of different methods of storytelling but they usually paint a similar picture. I think a lot of the loss in interest is caused by the fact that most people don't boot up a series like this with the intent of watching an action movie, they check it out to see the utterly insane story that comes when you use nothing but toilets and weird camera people. Suddenly there are these long-form battles all in the name of a self-insert god playing both sides, removing any of the speculation from the storytelling. Watching an arms race play out in real time is a lot more interesting than watching the culmination of that arms race be nothing but explosions, razor blades, rocket launchers, etc. Dumping everything that made your series what it is, no matter how insane, is a direct path to completely losing the essence of your own story. You can see this same phenomena in all kinds of other art forms. Part of me wants to go into a long-winded tangent about some examples of it I've seen, but I don't believe in my own ability to be clear or concise about it and the point would get lost in my ramblings. I mostly wanted to put my thoughts out there because even thought I don't think that this series is all that good, I think its combination of clever yet simple worldbuilding and silly recognizable character designs mixing with an utterly absurd premise is why it had that surge of popularity. To put it simply, the series quite literally is taking itself too seriously now.
@theking167Сағат бұрын
If the series didn’t take itself seriously the series would be long dead. Another meme which will come and go but the seriousness bad the fact it’s actually a series now and the recent eps(67-77) being actually very high quality and well done meant that people stuck around not for the fact it’s toilets and cameras but for the story, the action and the fact they are excited for the next plot lines.Every episode still gets 30 million views and the community has a active and dedicated community with a bright future for the franchise in general.

Fun fact: aside from Half-life assets, there are a number of assets from Transformers games (namely Megatron's fusion cannon, Starscream's buzzsaw, Optimus Prime's jetpack and swords amongst others)

@jakelaurence30 for you maybe, but would your parents have thought they were funny? Also, I'm not saying all things kids and teenagers find funny aren't funny, it's just a fact that for every example you named there's probably dozens that people thought were hilarious that don't hold up now.

Skibidi Toilet haters, I *defy* you to tell me Dan and Kiwo didn't enjoy the series. It's not perfect and it's not high art, but it doesn't nearly deserve the seething contempt it's received and I will die on that hill, though as a 39-year-old I practically have one and a half feet in the grave already. Yeah, it starts out as simple puerile toilet humor, but it rapidly develops into something genuinely interesting, with creative worldbuilding, a simple but effective plot (which does fall flat at the end, but it's hardly unique in that respect) and characters that you can get invested in. Pretty impressive for something in this short format with no dialogue! Is it timeless literature that speaks to the very soul of man? No. But it has its charm-I love the silly emoticons the TV people have as faces-and if the series had had smartphones or something instead of toilets, it could still have been an internet phenomenon that people would generally look back fondly on in later decades, without being labeled brainrot.

Lol, now that I think about it, if the toilet people really were just phones instead of toilets and the rest was exactly the same, people would be more willing to call it high art, a metaphor for fighting off the internet brainrot or some shit.

During skibidi toilet 18, they talked about it being Attack on Titan. I think it’s more of a pacific rim situation where the camera headed people created mechs to defend themselves.

This definitely wasn't on my list of videos I'd see Dan do, but it's hilarious how seriously they're analysing this. I'm 32 and also really question wtf is skibidi toilet so I'm taking notes from Professor Drift King and their assistant, kiwo.

It's not that kids find it funny it's entertainment like any other cultural phenomenon, for a while they were huddled talking about the latest skibidi toilet episode because it has so much lore And now it's transformed beyond the actual series into a meme word

so like the gman toilet was part of this futuristic alien species called astro toilets. He did something that made them mad so they banished him down the earth and took away all his abilities and then he sung the skibidi song rotting human brains and turning them into skibidi toilets so the humans started turning themselves into hardware heads to combat the toilets. How much of this are you gonna read.

Here are my thoughts: Skibidi toilet is a metaphor in reference to virality of content in social media platforms (particulary KZbin). As the first clips become more viral, the skibidi toilets become more powerful and end up conquering the world. The camera people represent both the viewers and other types of media consumption in a war against KZbin brainrot virality. Like, music might distract younger generations away from brainrot like skibidi toilet, but then people start listening to it as well, and then TV ends up being too distracting and the viral videos fade away. I'm still halfway through the video at this point, but that's my observation so far.

RT pointing out that these newer episodes being longer but not being as interesting has lead me to realise that while the skibidi market has been exploding in both length and perceived value, nothing of actual value is being generated in terms of new characters and plot lines. How long will it take before the investors (children) catch on to this? I'm afraid we might be seeing a skibidi downturn or even a skibidi stock crash in the near future.
@theking1672 сағат бұрын
Ep 70 is 10 months old and no downturn has occurred yet. Besides the main audience is actually teenagers now and not kids.
