I know my comment will get buried, but I have a compliment for you, Gotham and I hope it finds you. I’ve watched you for 5 years now. You’re the reason I got into chess. I’m not great but I’ve climbed 800 ELO since watching your videos and buying your book. In these 5 years, I watched your fall… I saw the anxiety destroy you, I saw the games you were winning but lost from fear. I saw you quit. I saw the worst of you. But now?!? Seeing you rise and take control and change your thought process as you have? I’m so proud of you man. Like, it’s been such an incredible journey watching your growth these past 6 months. I have found myself not just rooting for you but blatantly excited for your success!! I couldn’t for the Spain recaps, I checked all throughout the day for the next uploads ! And now seeing how you dominate all the places you were weakest and seeing the changes in your games like this title Tuesday tournament. You’re an inspiration. Not just in chess, but in a greater way to show that your mind doesn’t have to be a cage. You can break out and find your victories. Congratulations on your recent successes and I look forward to when I can celebrate with you when you get that GM title!

This video was definitely one of the most entertaining recaps I've seen in your channel. The games were trepidant and beyond interesting, I love blitz games because the game is not as psychological as it is emotional; players dealing with their immediate chemical responses to danger and fear, while fighting to turn them into intelligent resolutions. Also, since you started commenting on your own games, Levy, I confess I've lost interest in the videos where you cover other players' games. It's just so interesting to see you breaking down your own thoughts, feelings and mental processes with such characteristical wit and charisma. Love this road to GM series

Stayed til the end and appreciate Levy talking about what really matters to him and explaining that, while fun, online speed chess isn't the kind of chess that counts. Chess is a game meant to be played face-to-face with deep calculation and thought. That's part of the game's beauty and history. I really resonated with that last thought
@samuelbuchanan3784 ай бұрын
I don't think that's what he meant at all about the comparison of the formats. The main thought he conveyed was that speed chess wasn't directly related to his own personal goals of achieving GM status, so he isn't emphasizing his accomplishments in that realm.
