I SURVIVED Elvis Presley's Heart Attack Sandwich (with my Granny)

In this video, we find out that we've all been wrong about Elvis Presley's famous Peanut butter & banana sandwich. We also get my granny Myrtle Belle to give us a hand in the kitchen making it just like Mary Jenkins made for The King of Rock-n-Roll... well, sorta.

I recently watched an old interview about this with Elvis' ex fiancee Linda Thompson. She said he liked it a certain way, with the bananas all smashed up then adding the peanut butter in and mixing it up. Had to be on Wonder bread. He liked the bacon crispy too, then she'd put it all together and fry it like a grilled cheese sandwich, in a pan that had a stick of butter melted in it. My arteries twitched even hearing about it lol

​@roxannemoser, Banana samiches are FANTASTIC! However, these have been family points of contention for AT LEAST 55 of my 60 years: #1 Always JIF or Skippy PB on one side and Dukes mayo on the other. Many members insist on one of the other but not both. They are wrong. Some most likely illegitimates are fine with Peter Pan and Hellmann's. GAG!!! #2 Only cut the nanners lengthwise NEVER in circles. Why? Well, #3 Of upmost importance this is to mitigate slickness. This is done by placing the slick side of each lengthwise slice against the JIF leaving the other side to rest on Dukes. The PB eliminate s slickness. Circles are for cereal and milk. As slick nanners in wet milk is perfectly acceptable. Now many on the bad side of my family insist on circles which is madness and then of course some which are probably also illegitimate will mash together PB & nanners or PB nanners & mayo. While the sickest of all of these refer to this style as a I APOLOGIZE snot sandwich. Honestly, I can't even look at this style. I have tried banana sandwiches and PB&Js fried in butter sometimes with a powdered sugar finish which is a lot more dessert like, but 99.9% of the time, plain on white bread lately Aldi's Keto white bread makes a fine quick out the door breakfast or lunch BUT FOR GOD'S SAKE! Remember, Dukes AND JIF. Bananas lengthwise. Slick side against the JIF. Only this and other completely reasonable acts will enable our avoidance of chaos & anarchy. Further, I would never want to live in a world of cereal style circles, hideous mash or Peter Pan and Hellmann's or Kraft or EVEN if you're from SC, Blue Plate. You are welcome. If I can only save one......
