I switched to PC after 2k hours | Hunt: Showdown

I finally did it.
I've been playing exclusively console for over 20 years, actually never tried pc gaming other then age of empires and rollercoaster tycoon as a kid, until a few months ago. I'm amazed and happy to report the switch from controller to mouse and keyboard has been so much easier than I expected. (I’ve used Apple computers and only track pads for 15 years) Switching has reinvigorated my love for the game.
I still think console is a good place to play and deserves to be better supported by Crytek. The difference in quality shouldn't be so drastic. However the movement speed with MNK is blowing my mind.

RTX 4070 Ti
16GB RAM
1TB SDD
Mouse: Razer Viper Pro V2
Keyboard: Wooting 60HE
Monitor: Dough Spectrum 4K 144hz

I hear from quite a few pc players that it’s actually more fun on console because it’s so easy to aim on pc that the gun fights don’t last very long

I use to play Starwars Battlefront for the PS2 religiously growing up as a kid. Then made the switch to PC gaming as an adult. I honestly cant go back now. I recently was playing with my brother on his PS4 and I felt like a klutz

I honestly wish I could swap over to pc just for the bigger player base. But my pc is awful and I have a ps5 so maybe with the next generation we can get an optional pc crossplay toggle idc if I get stomped by KBAM if I can play full lobbies..

Totally hear you. I felt the same. Either get an empty lobby or keep canceling before the bar goes all the way and have to wait like 30 minutes or more between matches. Not a great experience.

Hunt has pc spec recommendations on steam you can check out. I’m using an i5 13th gen intel based pc with a 4070ti graphics card. I think you can get away with lesser cards too just depends on what graphics settings you’d use.

It’s not unfortunately. Although starting fresh is probably best to adjust to the new controls. If they allowed for cross progression I think more people would switch.

I love the turning speed on PC. That's the best improvement for me (I play with my dualshock lol). But, despite not being much, I still play better on console... Or everyone else is better here 🤔 A mistery for the ages to come.

👋👋 Yeah so far it’s not much different. In 5 star lobbies there’s mosins and avtos and all that and 3/4 lobbies there’s less of it. I think the biggest difference is people don’t miss their shots as much so you have to use cover a lot more. Fun so far.

Yeah there’s no cross progression so it’s an entirely new account.

Out of curiosity, what's your mouse DPI setting and in-game sensitivity settings?

My DPI is at 550 and my default sens is at 0.86. I've got it all dialed in now and might make a settings video soon.

Yes from my experience on both melee and shotguns dominant console while long ammo dominated pc

@@oliviergirard1362 it was for sure worth it for me. It’s expensive and more complicated and took a couple weeks to readjust but it’s definitely been worth it for me.

I'm assuming it's Hunt easy mode, how long did it take you to get accustomed to m&k

Which is easy mode? Controller is in my eyes more difficult because you can't aim as precisely. PC allows for such fluid movement and 180 turns etc it's much easier to hit shots. I've been playing for 2 weeks now on pc. So I'd say about a week to feel fully comfortable. I didn't expect it to be this fast.

No sharpening just brightness and contrast in post to make darker scenes easier to see in the video. In game it’s very dark. I do have anti aliasing off so that makes things sharper looking.

Haven’t experienced that yet that I know of. I think the benefits outweigh those issues though. Also on console in 6 star lobbies people are using mouse and keyboard exploits. People cheat everywhere.

@@phantommlord The smurfing is pretty rampant on PC. You'll find very quickly that MMR is often meaningless. I've had 1 star people just destroy me, and the 3 star ranked players are like 4-5 star ranked on console.
