you not wrong there. Increase in production lowered the cost, which in turn meant more people were able to afford it and thus it increased the SoL. It did cost more wood to produce, but i understand your point, it may not be optimal xD

Some things I don't really underatand ,Ludi, is why so you always switch to Gas streetlights (even though the price of services plummets) and why do you (almost) always switch the production type i.e. always switch to making luxury furniture alongside furniture, or artillery as well as small arms (the second, pink button). What i've found most of the time is that it's either better to wait until you have the input goods or balance them out across your factories. (i.e. 1 factory makes only furniture, different province makes full luxury). It requires minimal micro and gives great benefits. Switching to new ("better") methods, types or whatever as soon as you get then can be, more often than not, detrimental.

here's why I switch to the new production methods instantly: it makes the goods required more expensive and as such it hires people in the factories/farms producing those goods A LOT faster. So i tank economy for a few months but it gets me the right goods much faster than I'd otherwise be getting them. I wouldnt select a new method if I dont produce the required input at all, so keep that in mind though, not sure if me mentioning that made it to final cut

My first full v3 game was as Mexico. It's a fun nation. I found befriending the US worked, but it only worked because the CSA won the civil war in the 1840s. You start with such progressive laws and a decent pool of resources (most notably gold) that once you get past the early game, you'll be booming.

Just abandoned my Egypt campaign at 1912 because i realized that i no longer could complete there Achievement. I don't know why, but maybe joining on the revolutions side flushed the chances. It also flushed the surf's up achievement. So, that was about 20h down the drain. :( Good vid n thx Ludi. Have helped allot with the game, though there are deeper mechanics that i don't understand still, i can pilot most non-extreme nations by now with your videos help.

@Ludi et historia loving the more explained / longer format of the videos. 2 absolutely minor and pedantic corrections; Puerto Rico is pronounced with a strong rolling R (like as if youre screaming in angrer Ragh) rather than the weak r youre using (the rule is 1 r is weak, double r is strong except if its at the beginning of the word then its always strong). araucania is pronounced with a strong c like country not the s sound like cyan. also texan independence wasnt about us citizens flooding the region, it was the fact that the central mexican government was very weak and wanted to increase effective taxation over the region, americans being there was just an excuse (but if for example you check out the battle of the alamo, you will realize that the majority of "texans" were actually mexican) great Victoria 3 content. i would like to see an authoritarian communist run.

In my experiance sometimes IT IS better to wait for Chance some laws and Rush the required Tech for a better law often i get a better Support then, a example are the Tax law from Land Tax to headtax i get the Military Support and lose IT for Proportion Tax but when i skip headtax they Stil Support proportional tax
