I have never had things go up so fast in such a short time. There is so much new construction going up the insurance company's do not want to insure older buildings so they are making it so costly that you have no choice but to raise rent to off set it, just got a insurance price today on a single family home I was looking to buy for a new rental its over 6k a year now., that is over $500 a month just in insurance so who is really making the money, that is about what i would cash flow on the property and I am taking all the risk? This home a few years back would have cost about $1100 to insure. Its easy to see what is going on, so lets do a little more homework before you go after the property owners about hi rent. How about the state gives a property tax discount on rental property's you do realize we are charged more because its a rental property that goes for insurance also charged more for a rental property.

Let me get this straight...they have opened up a daycare and community center🤨? Is it BECAUSE they are raising rents $400?! We are still in a pandemic, so who's all hanging out like that anyway🤔?!

Here’s an idea for everyone complaining about the high rent. All of you guys band together. Pool your money and start building apartment complexes. There is no shortage of customers. Charge rent that your board of members thinks is appropriate. Become the competition of the slumlords that charge too much. That’s how a free and open market works. It allows you to compete. But instead you guys want the govt to step in and take that away. Be very careful of what you ask for.

FL min wage is $10/hr that's $1600/mo for working full time. Maybe small churches could buy small distressed houses. Fix them up w/church volunteers. Their congregants can buy the homes from their church at a fair price which aids in buying more homes.

There's at least 2 ways of looking at this. Renters see landlord greed. But the reality is many Mom & Pop landlords don't raise rents as the market increases. They don't like the hassle. So the reality is renters have been getting a deal as this renter found out when she tried to find another place. At some point a landlord will increase rent to market rate and gee of course renters don't like that.

I sincerely believe it is sandpaper rubbing on one's soul that the first person you see in the morning and the last person you see at night is a roommate. Consider moving in with family, getting a second job working remotely to save on transportation and time. Cut back and save and money. Readjust your concept of value to change how and why you spend money. Take a look at what you do best and see how you can make money from it. Consider changing jobs. My suggestion, and don't laugh, if you are young and clean of drugs, consider becoming a locksmith. There is a shortage and as transit as people are, its dependable work, it does not require a college education and pays well. Do an engine search, Renters are offering to pay more than the asking price of rent. This is not a good time to be making babies and as bad as this is, hell is going to get hotter. Peace.

It's not due to covid restrictions. If you do a little of research, rent prices are increasing because of politicians are passing laws to increase property taxes, water, sewage, and trash pickups. All the landlords does is pass the buck on to the tenants. Like Florida for example, doesn't take out income taxes from your paycheck, but they make up ground to pay for social services and other things by raising property taxes and toll road fees as examples.

...a free daycare and community center huh, with those rent hikes, I highly doubt it's "free"... Didn't sound like the residents were complaining about not having a social gathering place. The unit repairs should have been priority; then AFTER repairs/upgrades, a reasonable increase would have been justifiable.
@duancoviero97592 жыл бұрын
But that's the game they play. To justify the increase they make "improvements" so that they can jack up the rent though usually the improvement is just cheap stuff. Paint, cheap flooring, and cheap appliances.
@anniealexander96162 жыл бұрын
I just realized I have rent under priced by about $500. Rent control causes landlords to raise rent before getting stuck at a certain price. Then always increase the max allowed by law. Tenants don't realize rent control, increases rent.
