It was a proper culture shock, the first time I heard the Vietnamese representative was discussing with her colleagues at a conference. And during her call with her father later. I was perplexed thinking she was having arguments all day long. But nope, she clarified that is just how the Vietnamese tone is in day-to-day conversations. So hearing Tina speaking Vietnamese, is just genuine to her heritage 😆

For easy chicken phở, I usually cook a small chicken or two leg quarters with bones, adding some roasted ginger and shallot, some corilander roots. Remove the chicken when it’s just done (20-30 mins max). Remove the bones and throw them back in the broth and keep it simmers while you prepare the noodles. You can add a small pack of chicken or vegetable broth for extra umami. The spices are not really necessary for chicken phở :)

the Vietnamese Pizza is called Bánh Tráng Nướng, a special dish in Đà Lạt. If you visit Vietnam again in the future, try some Bánh Tráng Trộn with tamarind sauce. IT IS VERY GOOD!!!!

chi Tina, I learned a trick to open the jar easy is to use the back of your knife and knock on the edge of the lid, it should make a slight dent on the edge, do it like 3-4 times spread out evenly around the jar and it should pop easily, and doesnt damage or effect the lid :') I love making bap xao as well, the correct way of making bap xao is putting a dash of fish sauce when you add sugar, it suppose to be a savory sweet street food.

idk if mine is bap xiao but anyways heres what i do: 1. get some frozen corn (i use watties) and put it into a bowl 2. put a cube of butter (sizing depends on how buttery uw it to be) on top and add seasonings of ur choice 3. microwave for abt 2 min checking in 30sec intervals 4. add more butter or more seasoning if uw!! 5. stirrrrrrr!!!!!! (make sure the butter's melted completely and u mix it thoroughly with the corn!!) 6. serve!! U CAN ADD KEEPIE MAYO ON TOP TOO THATS WHAT I DOOO (i love making this as an easy supper or snack!!)

I am definitely giving the Pho a try. Because my local now charges $20+ for a bowl. Outrageously expensive! PS: And I agree with the poster further down. Having you cook some vietnamese food content would be great. I have endless videos showing street stalls etc, but there is almost no contenton how to actually home cook the food. My local restaurants are now so expensive going out is expensive!
