I just went to my dermatologist yesterday for my annual full body scan (since he found a small melanoma a few years ago) and he asked me what brand of sunscreen I was using. I told him the Elta MD and R&R on my face and neck and a sports broad spectrum on the rest of my body. He said those were excellent sunscreens! By the way no cancers! I (like you) was a sun worshipper back in my youth. I’m 77 now and learned my lesson from those days.

I suggest keeping in mind that she does recommend makeup and skin care products that have alcohol and fragrance in them. I'd check the ingredients lists carefully before you buy. She also recommends expensive hair care products. I think her endorsements are sincere, and she actually uses the products. But expensive hair care products and drugstore products are really much the same if you compare ingredients lists. All that said, one reason I continue to watch her videos is that I find her testing process interesting.

I'll parrot the same conclusions as most have stated....YOU are our GO-TO gal for all things Skin Care🤩...You DO review with such scientific yet easy to understand information, opinions, experiences and reviews🧐. Your personal HG's and preferences are done with such professionalism...as so many of the commenters have stated, you make it FUN to watch and you don't ramble on about other information and things...I hope you realize how much we appreciate that and YOU...The time you take to make (and even have to RE-make - ugh) videos does not go un-noticed! And...since you are "sad" your "2023 wrap up is "done"...maybe could you do another detailed video with ONLY your HG's mentioned??? I know you have them sprinkled throughout other videos, but that would also be so helpful to see them again, in more details and in a more recent video.....just another suggestion....(unless I missed a more recent one already done, please link) Unfortunately, on a Skin Cancer "side note", I just this month (May) had a Basal Cell Carcinoma area 😮removed via excision w/8 sutures.... (Amen that the margins are now clear 😊but there are more to watch and I have to stay in a 6 month "check" for the next 2 years😏). I've been incorporating a few of your suggestions over the past few years and can't wait to add more of your HG's...I'm sure my skin would be in much worse shape if not for your information! (thank you for that!) Keep on doing these videos...So thankful again for all you put out there! Blessings and Good Vibrations are sent your way! Can't wait for the next posts!!!! (Oh, and Maybe another video of the 5 Best Self tanners too.... 😉)

When considering the price of sunscreen you also have to take into account the amount you get in the bottle... the majority of the sunscreens I tested this year are under $20 per ounce! Only 7 were over $20 per ounce but sadly that includes the Neutrogena because it's only a 1 ounce bottle and the price has gone up to $25... So the R&R is still the better buy at about $16.50 per ounce!

Me too! In the countdown part of the video with your darling white top on I can’t stop trying to figure out your eyeshadow. Would love to learn how to create it. I have had skin cancer 3 times now and am a dedicated sunscreen wearer. In an effort to minimize attention from my nose (where I had my last skin cancer removed) I want to create a classic, everyday eye look like you are wearing here. Anything to keep people from looking at the scar on my nose. Thank you for all you do. You are an inspiration and provide huge motivation to keep working on my skin. ❤

Hi Angie, I appreciate all of you tireless effort reviewing sunscreens for us. My husband has worked 35+ yrs. As a carpenter and developed basal cell carcinoma all over his face and upper torso. It required a number of cut it out disfiguring surgeries. The worst of it came to metastatic basal cell carcinoma that spread to his tear duct, tumors on his eye socket and nasal bone. After a year of excruciating chemo to reduce the size of the tumors they still had to cut his face in half with 4 surgeries in six days plus grind it off his nasal bone to get get all of it. They made him wait 2 year to heal before doing reconstructive repair and he's still terribly disfigured with scars. The sun is NO JOKE and can forever alter your life if you don't protect yourself. You're the BEST!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

@@donnaallen2207 Thank you so much Donna. He is doing pretty good, one day at a time. Often people will stop him to ask what happened to him and they are always so surprised to hear it's from skin cancer and not a car accident or something like that. Thank you for the kind wishes and my best to you and yours.💞

I love your sunscreen choices. I can not do chemical sunscreen. I do love the R and R and the one that is escaping me that I wear every day! Elta MD!!!! I did just buy a Neutrogena 50 with blue ray protection and supposedly has no cast and is a mineral sunscreen, but I haven't opened it yet. I'm anxious to find a 50 SPF. My face looks younger than 4 or 5 years ago, and I attribute that to my sunscreen over everything else I do. Thank you for trying these for us! I can skip a whole bunch! I have noticed the sunscreen gathering in my eyebrows lately. Don't love that. So good to see you. I'm still adjusting to once a week, but I hope it's helping you. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! I have to work on Monday but having family over on Sunday! Enjoy! ~ Lori xo

Thank you for the thorough reviews and really appreciate that you use the proper amount. I have one point of contention and wonder if anyone else can relate. I have dry skin and often hear reviews saying things like- this is a greasy sunscreen, so people with dry skin will probably like this. I have dry skin and hate looking and feeling greasy. Having dry skin doesn’t mean that my skin will magically absorb all that excess moisture, or whatever is making the sunscreen greasy. If a sunscreen is greasy/shiny on oily skin, it’ll have the same finish on me and I’m not a fan. I love how thoroughly you describe the formulations. There’s so many options out there and your descriptions are very helpful.

Yay! Your sunscreen videos are my favorite. Found my holy grails thanks to you. Word of caution to people who are sensitive to botanicals. I recently pulled out my babo botanicals and had a full on allergic reaction. Face and neck were not pretty for several days. I really love the Dr. G and Elta sunscreens.

@@RockstarVeganRecipes its crazy! I had also worn the paulas choice super light wrinkle defense spf for years and the last time I bought it (2 years ago) my face went crazy. Horrible itching, redness which left my face a peeling mess. I can’t figure out what the heck ingredient I am allergic to lol. Right now loving both the Dr G and Scinic sunscreens with no bad reactions. Also my face tolerates elta md well.

Great sunscreen video, Angie! I have been a daily sunscreen user since my 30s, when I got a big sunspot on my cheek. Now 61, been using Elta MD for years on your recommendation. it’s my go to. Tinted one looks look makeup-y for me and i am pound of a porcelain-olive so I use the original and deal with white face. Tried R&R Sun Crème today, SPF 50. Dried on beautifully, no white cast. it has a tiny bit of a smell (no fragrances here to cover that) but went away quickly and I’m really impressed so far. thanks for your research and hard work!

Thanks again Angie! I want to try the Neutrogena but I must say my favorite continues to be the Australian Gold. I use it instead of foundation. It is a little drying but with a good moisturizer it works perfectly. The light shade is great for me most of the year, and then I mix in a little of the medium in the summer. For anyone who doesn’t love wearing foundation you should definitely give this a try!

Thank you Angie for all the time & effort you put in & subjecting your skin to all these products. I've been wearing sunscreen for over 20 years & unfortunately, even though I used sunscreen I still developed skin cancer. I can only contribute this to having a severe sunburn in my early teens, so as a result the cancer cells could have been dormant until I was in my late forties. I've since had full body scans & all is well. I was the only one in my immediate & extended family who developed skin cancer, so I've ruled out it being inherited.
