Happy birthday! Beautiful sushi cake! In order to keep the sushi rice grains intact my Japanese mom taught me to always scoop up from the paddle and then slice through with the side of the paddle. So scoop, flip, slice repeatedly until the liquid is evenly distributed through the rice. This method keeps the grains from getting smashed or broken. Love your videos ❤️

Even though I (probably some others) cannot stand the sound of chewing, we do come back to watch. David is really good about cutting out most of the chewing and when he's not, I hum a little to try and drown it out without drowning out what he's saying. To answer your boyfriend's question towards the end, as someone with misophonia (meaning chewing sounds make me want to scream and bash my head into a wall) David does a great job at keeping the chewing sounds low enough that it isn't distinctly noticeable.
