I can see it cutting a box with something inside safer than a knife that could cut whatever was contained in the box. The other thing is, as you mentioned, is that it looks like it is safer. I can see parents feeling a bit better about kids using it for projects rather than a knife or razor blade. EDIT: I should have waited until the of the video. 😅 Edit: so, I bought this after seeing it here as I was doing a project with yards and yards of marine vinyl. I got this for my mom (who is a seamstress and has issues with her hands sometimes) a couple of year ago and she loves it. Finds many different uses from cutting fabric to wrapping paper to small pruning jobs on the garden. It's surprisingly useful and far from a bad product. Good video showing it in use.
@charliedavis8894 Жыл бұрын
No good seamstress would ever use the same cutting device on good fabric then use it on paper and garden cuttings. Sewing scissors are used ONLY for fabric! There are cutting devices similar to this but they are meant only for sewing, not paper or anything else.
@SFANorth7 ай бұрын
@@charliedavis8894 easily a dislike on your comment. you literally called their mom a bad seamstress for using a tool in a way you don't like. Your probably not a good one either lol.
@charliedavis88947 ай бұрын
@@SFANorth Unlike you, I operate on facts, not my feelings. You're trying to claim I just don't like the way she's using the tool. I said it wasn't the right way to use it. Would you use a good steak knife to cut down a tree and then use it to cut your steak? No, because that's not the proper use for the tool. Using anything to cut crap in your garden, cut wrapping paper then use it on fabric isn't the proper use of a cutting tool for sewing. If YOU we're a good seamstress you would understand the importance of cutting a clean line rather than a ragged edge. You'd understand that cutting paper and pruning plants not only dulls a blade but can cause nicks in the edge which then gives a ragged edge to anything else you cut. I repeat, NO GOOD SEAMSTRESS WOULD USE SEWING SCISSORS OR A ROTARY CUTTER FOR FABRIC FOR WRAPPING PAPER OR PRUNING!!! Is that clear enough for your little brain to comprehend or are you still crying in your safe space because I hurt your widdle feefees????
@elijahjohnson20553 ай бұрын
@@SFANorthAgreed her mother doesn't even seem to be using the tool in a incorrect way. It seems more like a versatility tool than a specialized one anyways. Plus when you're poor you gotta get creative (I used to be penny counting poor and would use my sewing needles as thumbtacks on occasion).

This would be great in SCHOOLS, allowing Children to cut stuff but not with an open blade, this can stab injuries and worse, Stabbings from happening. I think this is a good idea for people who want to cut stuff but not having a sharp blade hanging around or as said, in a school where children may hurt themselves (YES I KNOW they could still cut their fingers but at least it is not a Knife to the Neck for example).

Just imagined a kid sticking its finger in this... But you got a point
@thephoenixking10863 жыл бұрын
@@penedrador Well as said, A finger being lost is better than a child stabbing someone in the head or somewhere possibly causing death.... Plus Children are Children so won't know how to use a Knife properly and may end up cutting themselves very badly.

First impression... This guy would be fun to watch trying to figure out what a sewing machine is. Bonus points if the beard gets caught up

I’ve actually used them in wrapping present because it helps make nice straight lines and scissors sometimes get stuck

What they're really good at is opening the impossible to open packages that electronics and stuff come in.

Yes the clamshell packets! Freakin reviews did a video on something similar
@greatleader48413 жыл бұрын
my 5 year old self took 10 seconds to realize how to open those packages with your hands on the drive home from toysrus. you rip from the area they hang those packages from. Unless they have no hang hole...then you bite the plastic and make a hole in it then rip from there.....I was a very impatient kid.

@@greatleader4841 good for you, but they are a pain in the ass regardless. A good sharp knife works, but these are a good option.

you missed the point its way more accurate then a knife.

More precise and less fatigue if you're making multiple cuts.

It's not that it's a bad tool, it's that a knife does it quicker, easier, and cheaper. Also, doesn't need charging.
