Eat your words. I own that tool and it's awesome! Mainly use it for breaking boxes down cause a box cutter couldn't cut the mustard on some boxes. But this tool had no issues cutting what a box cutter couldn't. Plus the blade is always sharp unlike a knife that dulls after multiple boxes.

I can see it cutting a box with something inside safer than a knife that could cut whatever was contained in the box. The other thing is, as you mentioned, is that it looks like it is safer. I can see parents feeling a bit better about kids using it for projects rather than a knife or razor blade. EDIT: I should have waited until the of the video. 😅 Edit: so, I bought this after seeing it here as I was doing a project with yards and yards of marine vinyl. I have to say, it worked great on that and breaking down all the boxes thereafter.

I got this for my mom (who is a seamstress and has issues with her hands sometimes) a couple of year ago and she loves it. Finds many different uses from cutting fabric to wrapping paper to small pruning jobs on the garden. It's surprisingly useful and far from a bad product. Good video showing it in use.
@charliedavis8894
@charliedavis8894 Жыл бұрын
No good seamstress would ever use the same cutting device on good fabric then use it on paper and garden cuttings. Sewing scissors are used ONLY for fabric! There are cutting devices similar to this but they are meant only for sewing, not paper or anything else.
@SFANorth
@SFANorth 7 ай бұрын
@@charliedavis8894 easily a dislike on your comment. you literally called their mom a bad seamstress for using a tool in a way you don't like. Your probably not a good one either lol.
@charliedavis8894
@charliedavis8894 7 ай бұрын
@@SFANorth Unlike you, I operate on facts, not my feelings. You're trying to claim I just don't like the way she's using the tool. I said it wasn't the right way to use it. Would you use a good steak knife to cut down a tree and then use it to cut your steak? No, because that's not the proper use for the tool. Using anything to cut crap in your garden, cut wrapping paper then use it on fabric isn't the proper use of a cutting tool for sewing. If YOU we're a good seamstress you would understand the importance of cutting a clean line rather than a ragged edge. You'd understand that cutting paper and pruning plants not only dulls a blade but can cause nicks in the edge which then gives a ragged edge to anything else you cut. I repeat, NO GOOD SEAMSTRESS WOULD USE SEWING SCISSORS OR A ROTARY CUTTER FOR FABRIC FOR WRAPPING PAPER OR PRUNING!!! Is that clear enough for your little brain to comprehend or are you still crying in your safe space because I hurt your widdle feefees????
@elijahjohnson2055
@elijahjohnson2055 3 ай бұрын
@@SFANorthAgreed her mother doesn't even seem to be using the tool in a incorrect way. It seems more like a versatility tool than a specialized one anyways. Plus when you're poor you gotta get creative (I used to be penny counting poor and would use my sewing needles as thumbtacks on occasion).

@@almost3pandas @Almost3Pandas why would you need a cutter for a blister pack? Or are you incorrectly using that word? You just peel the cardboard off the back of a blister pack, or push the pills through the foil. Cutting a blister pack with this wouldn't do any good anyways. You would only be able to cut it where the plastic is glued to the cardboard, and it wouldn't help you in any way. Maybe it would help with clamshell packaging with heat sealed/welded flanges.

Tyler the type of dude to go “alright guys, today we will be comparing an ak47 to this pipe gun I made, I have high hopes for this pipe gun and I don’t think the ak will work well” The pipe gun proceeds to explode while the ak works as intended, jamming on the last round due to Tyler messing with the chamber “Eehhhhhhh, it works. Was it Easier than the pipe gun? I don’t think so.”

This seems like it would be really useful for cutting cardboard in a straight line. I resize carboard boxes pretty often at work and cutting a really straight line through thick cardboard with a knife is not that easy.

Bosch make a much higher quality one of those, I use it for making long continuous and accurate cuts on thick fabrics and sheet materials (heavy canvas, sail cloth, heavy gauge pond liner etc) over long lengths like laying out a whole pond liner and doing 5m+ cuts. The principle of it works great, the worx one is just a cheap home user version.

So basically the cutting power is pretty alright, but that little safety guide and motor housing prevent it from getting in places a knife could easily be worked into. Also @TylerTube You should test the various Dremel attachments like the knife sharpener or the flexible neck.

This would be great in SCHOOLS, allowing Children to cut stuff but not with an open blade, this can stab injuries and worse, Stabbings from happening. I think this is a good idea for people who want to cut stuff but not having a sharp blade hanging around or as said, in a school where children may hurt themselves (YES I KNOW they could still cut their fingers but at least it is not a Knife to the Neck for example).
