I am a professional chef. I just showed that can of "American" hot dogs to everyone on our team of 27 culinary professionals no one had ever seen a brine can of hotdogs. Reminds me of something that Ted Allen would pull out of a chopped basket.

Pretty common thing here in sweden, but those sausages are intended to be boiled, I don't even know how a fried one would taste. "Hot dogs" or "varmkorv" was originally mostly served boiled in a brine when they got popularized in the early 1900's. The vendors would walk the streets carrying large boxes around their neck in which the sausages were stewing in the brine.

i watch a lot of “gadget testing” and “as seen on tv” testing videos bc i think they’re really fun, but one thing that has hurt me in the past is seeing people trash on a gadget/item for being “useless” when it could be helpful for disabled people, because both me and my wife are disabled. this is the first video of yours i’ve watched - you’re the first-ever person of this type that i’ve ever seen mention how many of these products are useful for disabled people, and i appreciate that so, so much. you’re very funny and fun to watch, and you seem like you really enjoy what you do!!! a new sub for sure ❤️

Lettuce browning vs not browning: I've always been taught that when you tear lettuce by hand, you pull the cells apart from each other, and that reduces lettuce turning brown. When you cut it, you slice the cells open, and that encourages browning. The only way the plastic knife would cause less browning is if it tore the lettuce rather than slicing it.

Lettuce update, not much going on. 😂 If you are creating a gadget please consider people who have difficulty with gripping possibly due to arthritis or numbness in their hands. My elderly father loves to cook but cannot close his hands to make a fist anymore. He has trouble holding handles of pans and cooking utensils. Thank you for being considerate of people with disabilities.

The best way to keep your lettuce from browning is to tear it instead of cut it. Tearing it doesn't destroy the cells of the lettuce, it tears along the cell membrane.

Yes!!!! Please do mvk kitchen products! I have fibromyalgia and I love that you mention at the beginning of every video to keep in mind that the products can help people with disabilities! I love anything that just makes cooking easier or faster since it takes a lot of energy and can even make me sick to make a big meal that involves lots of chopping or cutting etc. I love to cook but I don’t do it as much as I would like to because it takes a lot of energy out of me. My crockpot is my favorite kitchen gadget because I can dump all the ingredients in and just let it do most of the cooking! Could you do some recipes for crockpots? Like where u dump all the ingredients in and let it do the cooking? That would be awesome! Thank you for all your great videos!

He introduced me to the Jar Key. I have a disabled hand and opening jars was most times impossible for me. I always ruined my expensive knives, to losen the lid. Sometimes it wasn't possible to get a knife under the lid and I had to wait till I was visited by someone, who could open the jar. The Jar Key is actually the only "gadget" I own in my kitchen. And it is such an awesome invention. I have never struggled opening jars since then again.

@@cheyennestatzer7346 I would think the English pickle far more than Americans do. I doubt they sell very well there so vacuum sealed plastic wouldn't cut it for packaging as it would spoil much faster than a can. I'm guessing the 'American style" is a reference to the sausage itself, not that they're packed in brine. Now, if we can just get you Yanks to stop calling ham 'Canadian bacon'! 🙄😂

i bought the cherry pitter for my dad a few years ago. it broke with just a have batch of cherries done.... this year we just used a beer bottle and a chopstick with a flat top. works like a charm. put the cherry on the bottle, push the stone through with the chopstick. fast, easy and the stones are collected in the beerbottle

Thank you so much for the content to you create on many levels. I found your channel A few months ago when I was having a particularly rough day and looking for random videos to cheer me up. All it took was carbonated milk to spill everywhere and then the barrathon began :p I have some mild disabilities and I would also like to thank you for the disclaimer you put in every one of your gadget videos. not only have many of the gadgets been incredibly helpful to people I know, but to myself as well, and seeing someone acknowledge their other uses is incredibly rare and meaningful to find. And then of course thank you for the laughs, puns and all the dad jokes :p

If/when you make your own gadgets, I'd love something that helps with gripping. I have motor issues, and while I love cooking, the firm grip you need to chop and jiggle pans and the like isn't my strong suit. ps: Love that you acknowledge the usefulness some of these gadgets have for us disabled people, it's really refreshing.

It doesn't mean they're sold in the US, it just means it's an 'American style' hotdog. Made using a more American recipe than usual hotdogs in the UK. Don't take it so literally lol

I have heard that the Old West gunfighter, 'Wild Bill' Hickock, had a brother, who wasn't as, shall we say, 'fighty' than his more famous brother. Therefore, he was known as 'Mild Bill' Hickock. It wasn't unusual in the 19th century, for siblings to have the same name, generally as their father.
