Your teaching style works well for me. I'm not a good player but you've made me so much better. "You didn't have to make it like you did, but you did, but you did. And I thank you!"

Fantastic. Thankx! I heard The Rev uses a Peso for a plectrum. I can't say that he always does, but I used to prefer metal picks (currently prefer Tortex).... and they definitely give it a bit more -- bite? I've tried plenty of different coins as well, though never a Peso. Imo, a US dime sounds the best. A very pleasing sound. A dime is somewhat difficult to use cos of how small they are.... though that also lends itself well to pinch harmonics. Keep em comin, my friend. Can't get enough of this channel!

Can you imagine Gibbons relaxin at home watchin these videos and given a nod to the good ones - how cool - you know he is watchin - hope he is reading comments - Hey Billy - love the stories of the bait shop amplifiers, the house painter with your Gibson Moderne, the don't work so hard light string gauges - oh yeah and what year Peso for a pick do you need to get that tone? Great interpretation of this song - keep up the good work

That's exactly how you play pinched harmonics, but very small adjustments to the point on the string were the thumb hits makes a difference to how the harmonic sounds.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a Pinched Harmonics Pedal?! Chords would sound insane.

There is such a pedal. It’s called Zakk Wylde 😂😜

Good tutorial, but during the verses, Billy plays thumb-over at the 5th fret, grabbing the A there, with the C and D triads being alternated underneath. You can clearly see him doing that at Live at Daryl's, and 1980's Old Grey Whistle Test performances.

This is the first ZZ Top song I can remember hearing as a kid in the 70's. It's always been one of my favorites. It's really slick with the chorused out clean rhythm and that snotty lead over it. It always made me imagine driving around at night trying to pick up some pussy, lol.

I did not know it was a cover. I thank you for turning me on to that. S & D did it killer, too. My old aging self still loves discovering new (to me) things and I would not have without great channels like 12 chains.
