Last weekend in Storm Darragh I was driving into through Wales, the roads were flooded out in places, massive puddles in others. Im driving an Audi A4, and im slowing right down and basically idling through the floods. I noticed a Jag and a BMW following a bit close for the shitty conditions so I pulled over and let them pass me. Less than 5 mins later the BMW 320d 59 plate silver estate is sat in a flooded bit. Funny thing was, it was only about 4" deep and if you just went slowly and didnt make any big waves or splashes you can get through these things. RIP BMW.

Growing up in the days of common sense I was taught to dab my brakes after driving through any water. I was also taught, don’t drive through water at speed higher than the bottom of your bumper. 😂😂😂

That first one! I have a car with the same engine and the air intake is quite high up - just above the higher grille at the nearside. He would've got through their 100% if he went slowly.

Keep the revs high and don’t quit, no problem. Those who fail are the ones who don’t commit, and they back off halfway through instead of keeping the revs high if the engines revving it can’t stall Watch the Landrover at 3.50 no problem he doesn’t quit

I scrapped one recently due to damaged camshaft lobes, metal in the oil, injector leaking, ignition switch worn, and the pump in the tank gone (which requires tank removal). The mileage was 114k... Not the best car ever made. It was identical to the one in the video, with the same colour, the same seats, Ghia, and the same engine.

In Britain, it's a national sport, "who can kill the engine?"🤭 I often see so many videos with puddles and funny people diving into them at crazy speeds. In general, it's interesting, but it's not the right thing to do when you have a hatchback that sucks air under the bumper with its engine.

Apologies if this has been asked/answered before but what is the insurance company’s position on your claim for repairs if you’ve managed to hydraulically lock your engine driving through floodwater resulting in major bills for replacement rods etc? Surely, “I was driving through a puddle when the engine just stopped” won’t wash (sorry) will it? Or will it?

Ice engines do lots of wonderful things with gasses at different pressures. Ice engines really don’t like incompressible liquids.

lesson for u kids don't skip physics classes, otherwise u would know liquid does not compress, u can only pass thru if your car has one of those air snorkels on the side of the car.
