The AMX was a joint development between Italy and Brazil, this is the Brazilian version of the plane, funny little bit of historical context, the Brazilian version uses two 30mms because the US refused to approve the sale of the M61 Vulcan to Brazil. The MAA-1 Pirahna is a domestic Brazilian missile. Still doesn't explain why it's a higher BR, as far as I'm aware, the MAA-1 is marginally inferior to the AIM-9L irl.

The MAA-1 was built after sanctions of the U.S to Brazil, that refused to sell Aim-9L's to them, supposedly the missile was supposed to be an equal or superior counterpart, I don't think it would have been approved if it was considered inferior.

i tried the normal TT AMX in Sim and its good and fun. And the Premium is in the Same BR Bracket but even better. It can kill 4 Bases in one Run and has an OP AAM at this Bracket.

RB is just sometimes not worth playing, always the same Map, everyone goes for the easy targets first like Mine Mine Mine. You know the Thrill. Sim you have more control and Skill matters more as well. I am usually not playing Sim as well, i havent used my Joystick in like almost a year and needed to find my old Control Backup file. But for Grinding something as tedious as this Event its pretty relaxing. Just needs some time getting the setup right and getting used to it.

Yesterday I sniped a Tempest Mk2 diving away from 800m on the yak-3p while on deflection (my aim in deflections is surprisingly better than when people fly straight lol) and then reversed an LF Mk9 that got also one shot, even despite how ridiculously tanky spitfires have gotten.

Thing about the piranha is, it wasn't made to track jets, it was made to track props. the only times it was ever used was against cartel planes flying through the border, the Brazilian airforce wanted that from the MAA-1, it was designed to be short range and sensitive to colder targets. Gaijin apparently didn´t know that when setting up the BR tho.

about the flare resistance issue, you're certainly right and it's a real thing too, i've seen a video of the brazillian company that created it, showcasing how the fins moved and the sensor would keep lock on a lit cigar barely a meter in front of it.

That test shows absolutely nothing. More heat would reach the seeker from lit cigar a couple meters away, than from jet 2-3km away, that's just basic physics.

I genuinely think Gaijin does not want to sell this at all. Especially for the damn price I'd rather just use the tech tree one. Remember the J7E is 11.0, it Is a lower BR than this thing , same with the F5C A 40g IR missile in a day in age where everyone spams counter measures as soon as they even get a whiff of a missile. In Sim they are sometimes in the Same Bracket and there even the TT AMX is better. Super Etendard still has a very limited Loadout making it only usable as CAS in Tank Modes. The Premium AMX can destroy 4 Bases in one run while still having both AAM. The Super Etendard cant even kill one Base alone. For Sim Players this might actually be an very effective Grinder.

Even in ground it's worse, the GBUs that it gets are basically equivalent to GBU-12s, which ontop of being really inconsistent at killing, are SMALLER than the normal GBU-12. The Italian AMX however can carry GBU-16s and 24s, which are just better.

I bought this AMX when it dropped and at 10.7 it was actually quite enjoyable and playable and since they moved it up it really put me off from playing it. Had to use the F-104 TAF to grind which tbh I really enjoyed.

Both are pretty shit in Air RB. The same aweful Matchmaker making you basically face 12.0s every time. Get yourself a cheap Joystick and go Sim. It takes a while but its chill and both Jets are really effective there when gettin the 10.3 to 11.3 Bracket. I used both TT counterparts and both are fun and effective. The AMX feels like a mini F16 when sitting in cockpit with great visibility^^ For example Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick or the Thrustmaster T16000M FCS both for about 50 Bucks when on Discount should suffice. Should be enough for Ground Pounding, hunting AI planes and sometimes even get a player kill.

as a Brazilian I bought it happy because first Br Vehicle As a 11 year old veteran I don't recommend it to anyone... as sad as it is to me not to recommend getting a Br vehicle air rb 11.3 is so bad for it, if I knew I would probably talisman the normal AMX in ground RB it gets same loadout then normal AMX, faces tunguska and possibly S.1, while at .3 higher BR is the tornado which is WAY faster with the same Laser bomb capabilities but being fast makes it better to climb, dodge SPAA, etc... Truly disappointed with gaijin

A lot of Italian jets (I'd say props too) has serious BR issues! Like why the G.91 YS is 9.3 when similar jets (that can actually turn well / or at least has good engine-power + carry bombs and 9Bs) are 9.0 at best. Ariete/Sagitario : Good planes but not 9.3 material, its technically a "no tech" fighter(s), but my issue is that i just can't catch anybody at its BR range (unless a full downtier but on 9.3 that's never gonna happen) and nobody is that stupid to try to turn-fight with them, and even bombers+attackers can outrun it (except A-10A), not to mention if u go too fast u loose all controls do to the lack of boosters. My main "pray" was the F-5C with it, but not any more; and often end up alive at the end without any kill.

G.91Y is at 9.0, and it is actually pretty decent. G.91YS has the same flight performance as the G.91Y, but it gets access to two aim-9bs instead of AA-20 nords. I would say the 9.0 one is better than the 9.3 one (just BR for BR). As for the Sagitario, I agree that it should be at 9.0. The Ariete, on the other hand, is one of the best 9.3 aircraft at the moment, next to MiG-19s and F-104s. Sure, it's not the fastest jet, but you can dogfight anything you want pretty much, and people are actually that stupid as to try to turn-fight with the ariete.

G91Y is currently the better choice thanks to the Matchmaker getting you into 8.3 and 8.0 Matches more often than not where it outperforms most other Jets. And AA Nords are a fun surprise against enemies since almost no one expects them. Sadly they more often than not give only Hits or Crits that dont get the enemy killed. Espcially F86s can tank these AA Nords from the front like nothing and even with critical hits keep fighting like, it was just a scratch^^

When the rockets were still broken asf this thing was a monster for sl and rp, it still is as you can use napalm instead but not as much, as for its br, it's quite simple, the missiles on this thing in a headon make the python shit itself, I've had a dude be 0.7 miles away flear and pull 8gs and get absolutely demolished more times than I've died in this thing, it's so fun to fly and is such a great bomb bus that I went from struggling to get through the cl 13 to being at the f-16 in less than a month (I play Italy on and off atm)

I asked it on the forums but I didn’t get any answer so far: What’s the difference between the Yak-9 at 3.0 and the Yak-9T at 4.0 apart from the guns? They have the same engine, the Yak-9T seems to have a slightly better airframe but to me it doesn’t really make sense that they are so far apart. The Yak-9T seems completely pointless at 4.0.

9 and 9T/K have the exact same FM with the only difference being the comically large gun. At 4.0 they are basically gunboats and better flown as heavy fighters.

@@Cohuatl Because the stat card says it's faster and the online sea level chart also says that the Yak-9T is faster. The cockpit on the 9T is slightly moved back to make room for the cannon but maybe it has some other slight aerodynamic improvements. For example it doesn't have the small buldge for the 12.7mm. But performance wise it just feels outclassed at 4.0. According to the sea level chart the Yak-9B is just as fast at 3.0.

@@Kuschel_K It is outclassed at 4.0. Aerodynamic changes made the aircraft slightly faster but the aircraft is also 200kg heavier so that the aircraft can withstand the fire of the bigger cannon. It is a worse Yak-9 a full BR rank up because meme cannon. The big cannon Yak-9s at 3.7 and 4.0 are the only bad Yak props in the game. Every other one in the game is at least average with most being good or better.

ngl i really feel they nerfed the piranha, and the fact it sits at 11.3 really made the grind worse IT was a great grind before the 13.7 update, and even then i see it as a good CAS and sim option, but as an ARB.... totally not Also i said the thing about the piranha because i remember that when it was once at less than 1km, ahead of a plane and going like a T-bone, it was most of the time a kill nowadays even at .5km any flare can make it go dumb, hell that shit somehow pulls 70Gs when a flare appears and decides to ignore anything else

They're pretty flare resistant rear aspect. Their sensitivity to flares is basically the same to that of the engine
