I Thought I Was Snagged... Then It Started MOVING!!! (Almost Broke It Off)

Flooding back in the day DESTROYED this dam, but after talking to locals.. It actually made the fishing better. The flathead hunt this year has been a successful one as far as numbers go.. Size wise? It's been kind of a struggle. To me though, with the limited time I have, any flathead, is a good flathead. So any day I can catch one, is a good day. Minus the crappy Casey's sandwich. PAAA POWWW!!!

You are correct the size of the catfish I always hated catching one about 3or4 inches long there fins would stick you real quick and then your wound would hurt for several days. 👍on the video keep them comming

I have become an expert at using forceps through the gills and rotate the swallowed hook out. I catch mainly bass. It works like a charm.

I use a arterial clamp as a hook remover, works pretty good because its pretty thin and long. My english is pretty bad, so maybe it is called differently. Compressor, compressorium, hemostat are other translation.

I read an article in Fishing Facts YEARS ago about leaving hooks in fish, all either rusted or ejected themselves (as a splinter would) or digested with no harm. The hooks were purposely placed in various places upon tanked fish. That being said, I have caught fish that had fatal injuries from a swallowed hook upon landing no matter whether I left the hook or removed it.

Careful when eating after handling fish and bait. My dad wasn't careful once and it made him sick for about a week. Not sure what hit him but it was extremely graphic.
